Do you think we will see more of that or was that just a one time gameplan? Personally I really think they got something. Reminds me of the Cheatriots when they had Gronk/AHern. Steelers could come up with a new gimmick everyone tries to copy.

+ We got 2 great backs
    + DWill keeps getting touches
+ Bell is a threat anytime he touches the ball
    + Keeps them fresh

    - Both times Bell got injured was after receiving.
    - More likelihood for one to get injured if both playing

It is a viable threat and it makes teams account for it. I like it more than trotting out the speedy midget and running a fake end around HB hand off because throwing Bell the ball is dangerous and Dwill can pound it up inside.

Absolutely use Bell in any and every way that you can. Line him up in the slot against a backer, have him slide into the center of the field which might cause the safeties to bite somewhat then we should have AB, Wheaton, DHB and even Trimble outside the numbers in mostly single coverage. Bell could absolutely be the golden nugget to this offense being prolific if they can all just stay healthy for the Love of God!!!!

The main thing I felt like Bell did for the passing game last night was twofold. He DEFINITELY drew the front 7's attention on play action. When Ben hit AB on that long td pass if you noticed on that play the whole d seemed to collapse on to the side Bell was on and AB ran back across the field in to open territory because of it. Also Bell pass protects like an absolute beast. DWill can pass protect too. With both of them on the field we are definitely a more viable offensive threat in general. Then once Bell gets to the 2nd level with the ball in his hands the true beauty begins because I believe he is by far the most entertaining open field runner in the league. Maybe since Barry Sanders. He can run through. He can run over. He can run around. Just awesome to watch.

the only reason he played wr was because we missed Eli too damn much
    Now when he gets back
    WOW
    tHATS GONNA BE SOMETHING AMAZING

    Bell right
    Eli left
Dwill out of the back field
DHB and Coates streaking down the sides

    yep AB is not in
just so happens he is ejected for 2 pfouls from earlier tds

Put your best players on the field and let them make plays. DWill is not just a decoy in the backfield. Teams have to concern themselves if he runs it as well as having to cover Bell, and AB, and the outlaw, and Coates, and Wheaton. And, they can't cover all of them.

You continue to use Bell how he was used lastnight. We become a lot easier to defend when you go 3 wide with bell in the backfield. What's difficult to defend is a 2 TE and 1 back set. Why, because the D has to make decision. Do you keep your base D on the field to play the run. if you do, you motion/shift Bell out and now you have a LB or a safety covering Bell if it's man, or if the D is in zone the CB slides to cover Bell and now a safety or LB is lined up over a WR = mismatch. If the D anticipates Bell shifting and used a nickel package...you run at the D since they have one less linebacker on the field or run play action.

Also, when I see the big 3 on the field together it reminders me of the Ram's greatest show on turf teams. As good as Tory Hold and Issac Bruce were, Marshall Faulk was the engine of the offense. The Steelers used Bell like the Ram's used to use Faulk. I'd think we'll see more of the same even as Eli gets healthy.
