Been trying to register for 5 years

Not really related to this board, but I've been trying to register on the official message forum for 5 years now. I've tried many e-mail address, including e-mail addresses from more than one ISP. What a crap site.

 

It took me at least 5 years, then I got on. I made about 10 posts, got called an idiot by someone that couldn't spell. And then the buttons went away.

Same here, I have registered several times and allowed only to post once. After that one post I spent 2 years being a "new member".

Sounds familiar. I've been reading the official Steelers board for at least 10 years, if not longer, and I tried registering many, many times, with different email addresses, etc. It wasn't until last summer (2010) that I was finally able to log in and post, and the weird thing is that it was with an account that I had tried to register like 3 years before. It had never worked, and then one day I tried again and it just started working.

 

Who the heck runs that official board anyhow?

Yes, thank you for this board. Finally registered after a couple years over at the official board, but have to endure a 15 minute ordeal per post.

 

I am just glad that on this site tonight I am not receiving the message "Please read "New User Activation Information". The moderator will review this account prior to activation. Thank you for joining the Message Board" on the first night that I joined here. I had to be a lurker there for over ten years!

Holy Cow! You mean I can post without logging out/in? What a concept.
I was on the other board for 7-8 years and got banned right before SB 40 for posting something in spanish that the mods misinterpreted. After a year or two of not being able to post at all, I've only been able to post replies one at a time logging out/in each time so, THANK YOU to whoever put together this site.

I registered about 7 years ago, posted for a year or two, and then suddenly could not log in any more. I kept getting the message that it was an invalid user name. Funny that I had no problem logging into the shop portion of the website with the exact same user name. I guess I was allowed in if I was going to spend some money. I have not posted for about 5 years, I just gave up.

 

Likewise here. 5 years+ ago I registered, still can't post there.

 

Well it looks like I had a lot of company when for the last four years I tried, unsuccessfully, to join the official message board.
It took all of one minute to join this board. I've got to give a big thumbs up to the person(s) who started this web site

 

Haha same here...I've been reading the official board for years. Probably tried to register once or twice each year and never got in.

 

Lol I have tried many times to register as well and never was accepted. I'll tell you this much it never stopped me over the years from visiting and reading other members same thoughts as myself on our steelers. So heres to make new steeler friends. Cheers everyone

That ridiculous "official" message board was a PITA. I couldn't count the number of times you hit submit just to see your post disappear into the digital beyond! "Where'd it go?" I tried multiple browsers and multiple configs---all to no avail! Seems the board even gave Pimply Dan the boot, as he's never been seen again! :bye: Good job to the mods/admins of this message board!
