103 years and the Bears have never fired a head coach mid-season. After thanksgiving he had to go, though.

So the Steelers do something unprecedented last season by Firing a Coach Midseason; the first time since WWII. The Bears say "hold my beer" and relieve Eberflus of his duties the year later. The massive issue I personally have with all of this is the fact that the Bears should have gotten rid of Eberflus at the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Not saying that would have made Caleb's intro to the NFL less painful but a fresh face with fresh ideas would have greatly aided the entire team of Chicago; doubly so if it was an Offensive Coordinator. If there is one shining light to all of this, Thomas Brown, Chicago's OC, is still being viewed as a HC Candidate for 2025. Should he play his cards right from here on out, I'd stick with him if I were the Bears.

Lots of Bears players have been favorable to him since Chicago jettisoned Shane Waldron.
