2 years, $12 million per profootballrumors.
I don't think it removes ILB as an option at #20 but certainly makes it less of a priority. Barron is clearly an upgrade to what we already have.
yup...still want one of the Devins..but I feel better about the middle right now
I only watched the rams consistently in the playoffs and thought he looked good but i understand throughout regular season he was less impressive?
This is very positive. Steelers can now go BPA with the 20th pick, probably on a CB, or LB if one of Bush / White is still there. There is also a chance they go WR if there is someone they really like.
I’m a lot more optimistic about 2019 than I was last week.
Some great news was really not looking forward to the draft if we traded up for Bush.....this now gives me hope for Murphy or Fant!!!!!!
My first reaction to seeing this was positive. It’s a bit lukewarm upon research, because here are his PFF grades:
6mil is kinda a lot for that, no? We should have paid LJ Fort less for better in my opinion. But then again, what do I know

Barron has played 750+ snaps each of the last four seasons for the Rams. He is coming off the worst overall grade of his career in 2018 (54.0).
Overall grades by season:
He’s a mediocre player. Damn I’m pissed right now. I loved the Moncrief and Nelson signings, but this one? Wtf?
still ...gotta be happier with a ILB that has cover skills better than Dirty red or Bostic..
I'm loving all these free agents Bell bought us
I think this means Matakevich might be gone. Does his special teams prowess save him? Because Bostic was nice against the run last year and is very athletic.
Does Barron play ST? If he does that well, I guess this isnt the worst thing
If we use him right it's a major pick up and not just cause he played at bama. He can cover te but not slot wrs. Excellent blitzer, or was, can honestly say havenf seen him much past couple years.
He hits like a truck and is pretty good at taking the correct angles. Isnt going to fight off alot of blocks but pair him with bostic. I think it's a major upgrade for the middle of the defense
all good signings not great but still better than the present and allows the potential draftees to come into form.
Never head of him tbh
I'm not impressed. It does seem like a lot for a mediocre inside linebacker. I'm not sure he is any better than Fort.
To me, this means Pittsburgh might not obtain a DIME in the draft. Rather, Mark Barron could be a stopgap option; the proverbial bridge if you will. Hopefully players like Amani Hooker or CGJ are still options.
He stinks, the Rams have no LBs and let him go At 6 million a year, I hope I'm wrong, Burnett should be cut next week though .
He may be but time will tell can't be worse than what we have now right?
Can I be happy that I get my last name on a jersey? And finally hear it on Madden.
A replacement for Burnett but healthier version.
This is a good move.
Doesn’t take ILB off the board for rd 1.
