Banana Ball

You can't make this sh!t up. Never heard of it until flicking the channels yesterday and came across it.

The point of Banana Ball is to reinvent traditional baseball as a fast-paced, highly entertaining, and fan-centric spectacle. Created by the Savannah Bananas, it eliminates slow moments and combines high-level athletic competition with choreographed dancing, comedy, and interactive crowd engagement.

I thought it was a joke on MLB. What shocked me most was the size of the crowd. They have had 80,000 to 100,000 attend one of these games. It's silly as hell but obviously people love it. Players make up to 100,000 a year and they are decent. Not MLB decent but they have talent.

 

I can't believe you're just hearing about this. It's been around for a while. I would love to go to one. Tickets sell out so fast though. Banana Ball is a family thing like a circus more than a sporting event. Medieval Times on steroids.

 

I would enjoy being close to the field for one. There are a lot of things going on.
