Some have had a long weekend and some have had a bit longer off. I am one of the lucky one's who had a company good enough to give us the week off. However this morning it is back to the grind, good luck everyone that is heading back after time off......

I'm finding it harder than usual to get back to the grind. I hope everyone fares better.

I go back tomorrow. Always been a fan of a short week after an extended break. Just seems to make reentry a little more tolerable.

I have been off since the Friday before Xmas, so I am dragging but hiding in my office as well. The bosses are still away so it is like a small vacation too at work.

Ah....the perks and nightmares as a home-based self-employed consultant. No "return to work", never really left it. It's a mental morph between working all the time and vacationing all the time. Doesn't matter where or when I put in those billable hours or what color jammies I wear, just have to put them in well before the cabin and truck payments are due each month. :rules:

It's not for the feint of heart - as they say the key to success is find a nitch ....and then fill it! You get consulting type work only by being considered a "specialist" to clients but you'll only survive by staying a flexible generalist. Plus, you're only an "expert" is someone else's zip code; in your own, you're just another opinionated person.

These are the main things I've learned doing this for 30 years and counting now. My two centavos worth. ;) Keep your dream alive!

I worked a few days between the holidays. They were nice extended weekends though. Still off today. Won't see another day off until the first playoff game for us.

I'm gritting my teeth and hoping I'll be off for the AFCCG. Wait. Of course I will. "Yeah, boss, can't come in today. I have Steeleritis."

My last vacation day left until spring is already etched in stone for the SB. Other than those 3 days, I'm probably working. :swoon:

At least I beat the curse this year. I actually had almost every Sunday off this season (rare). The few times that has happened in the past, the Steelers had bad seasons.

I came back today just in time to fix a vent fan in the day head and hump 4 8D batteries down to the boat. Swapping them out tomorrow! Yay!
