First off, huge kudos to the defense tonight! They generated pressure and held strong through most of the game. Maybe our young guys are starting to gel finally. Hoping Hargrave isn't hurt too bad and is back next week.

The other thing is I was big time impressed with the officiating. I'm usually bitching the whole game either on here or to my wife, but I thought they did a pretty good job tonight.

    Keep trucking Steelers!

Funny that the D is playing better without him.

So you were ok with the so called illegal block in the back and no holding call for Timmons on the last Giants TD???

    Concussion. (Same for Shamarko Thomas.)

I thought they were consistent with the receivers and defensive backs, letting them play for the most part. They seemed to have selective vision around the QB and line of scrimmage.

Agree, but I think since Heyward is gone the defense is better because:

    1. Using different schemes on defense, i.e. Moving DL around, rushing and blitzing more different players around the outside like DB, Timmons, etc.

    2. Jones playing less and Harrison playing more.

    3. Developing of Burns and Davis and their athletic ability finally showing up.

The hold on Timmons was horrible. I can see missing a holding call here and there, but when the only defender that has a chance at stopping the play is 5 yards from the ball carrier and the officials miss it. That was a no call. They saw and didn't throw the flag. Thats all there is to it.

Other than the penalties it was good. I thought the Steelers would win by at least 10 points because I wasn't impressed with the Giants win streak at all. It was also good because I let the 2 thousand from last week ride and now it's 4 thousand. The spread this week is the Steelers giving only 2 points so I took 1 thousand back and bet the remaining 3 thousand on the Steelers to win and gave the 2 points. Worse case is I break even to where I was two weeks ago when I started this mini cycle and best case, which is going to happen, is I walk away after the Bills game with an extra 6 thousand to give to the animals. That is the fun and upside of betting with house money. I think the Steelers cover the 2 points easy.

I even enjoyed some of the announcing, in particular Aikman's analysis of the last 4th down sack.

(two replays of the receiver routes)
"On replay, we can see that the receivers were well covered..."

(next replay is the standard view of the linemen)
"Eli Manning didn't see any of that."
(pocket quickly collapses around a hapless Eli)
