Steelers had him and released him in pre-season without seeing what he could do in a game.

 

Makes all the throws, all the time. Deep ball specialist.

 

Making all the throws, some to Martavis Bryant, against top flite competition.

 

Here is why the Steelers cut Boyd, botched snaps in training camp. Pouncey and the backup center were unable to practice, so a 3rd string center was making the snaps. So Boyd botched a few snaps and got sent packing a few days later without seeing any playing time in pre-season.

 

The video just says he botched some snaps. It doesn't say that's why he was cut.

Probably a safer bet to say he was cut because he wasn't as good as the other guys. Especially given they also signed Mettenberger later, rather than resigning Boyd.

 

The Jets is the only team in the NFL that has 4 QBs on their roster, and out of the 4 they have none....

 

Considering the Jets have not really had a successful quater back since Mark Sanchez in his early years.. that is not saying a whole lot...



... then again.. neither is the fact that the Jets really cannot evaluate quarterback talent either.

 

Well looking around for couch potatoes at QB right now makes no sense either, Bens going to be back in 2 or 3 weeks so there is no pressing emergency, we have two OBs to carry us for 1 or 2 games so just chill out people....

T Boyd???? Really..... His claim to fame is as a college QB he had Bryant and Watkins as WR to throw to. The jets drafted him in the 6th rd, cut him, we cut him and kept Landry, the CFL cut him and he was just arrested in S Carolina.....

Not sure if you are talking about the masses but if not I am content with the situation actually.


Landry Jones did enough to best a loaded Arizona squad from a year ago. Let us see how well he fares against a talented New England one.

 

People really must think there are better options than Landry at the moment.


If Landry was as bad as people say he was, he would have been gone years ago.

Landry still gave his contributions towards the win. I still believe the Steelers can win Sunday if the players execute their assignments and play fundemental football.
