I don't know does anyone have any proof of that happening in practice. If that is truly the case and they are that bad athletically how is this issue not addressed? If the talent back there is as bad as you say then why don't we scheme around it and give them the help they need from the safeties. Most times our safeties are both around the LOS ,especially Troy. iMHO I don't think they are being put in the best position to succeed. I think their aggressiveness has been drilled out of them. Bend but don't break doesn't work anymore, teams are content to nickel and dime us to death. He expects the other team to make a mistake ,that's Lebeau's plan to stop them. He wants to get them in third and long then make the stop, well guess what there were plent of third and longs today and we still couldn't stop them. There are just too many guys getting free releases off the line and when our pass rush or lack thereof doesn't get there you give up big plays. If our front seven is supposed to be our strength then come up with ways to create pressure. We are failing on both fronts....

Troy, or any "roamer", is much more potent when the front can create pressure on the QB and disrupt timing. That allows people like Troy to capitalize on mistakes. This isn't that hard people, our defensive line is our bane right now, and until we fix it, our defense will be unreliable.

Whose fault is that? If our corners are "obviously" as bad as they seem, why do they get such little help.

AS I stated last week after Ike left the Game our CB'S could not cover . To make up for it the scheme dropped more guys into coverage .... This is why we didn't get a lot of pressure ...We need to double every eligible receiver so if they send 4 into the pattern it takes 8 to try and guard them...

If we could lock down just 1 pass catcher 1 on 1 we could send more heat ...Now if we could lock down 2 our current Front could get 3 or 4 sacks a game .... Simple math guard 4 guys on the back with 5 and you can send 6 against 5 up front....Really no debate from my point of view we coached a Team 1 year and got like 20 sacks that year and the DL sucked,,,,what we did have is talent in skill positions that allowed us to send more than the other Teams could block......

I don't know if it was me and I couldn't run, jump or cover or match up athletically . I'd much rather take my chances getting in someone's grill than giving them a running head start towards me while I'm back pedaling .

Well i like your grit but you run a 4.5 and they run a 4.4 so 1 step and your toast and on top of that they are 6 foot tall and you are 5-5 so any high throw you are beat as well...Plus the WR knows the route you have to react ,,,so the bottom line is either get beat a little at a time the entire game or get beat all at once most of the game....This is the choice DL is forced to make....lol
