I don't think Jim Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin have ever faced each other.

According to the Google machine... that was Jim Harbaugh in 2011. I guess they did face each other and it's 1-0 Jim.

If we can contain D. Henry, Lamar Jackson usually falls into stuff we like to usually do. We shall see. I would bet we beat them at least once.

Given where the AFC is at right now, I don't think the North will get a WC team.

So I think we win the division or watch from home.

So still important because it's an AFC game. But that's the 4th tie breaker in division. (Head to head; division games; common opponents; conference...)

Outside of the division here are our common opponents:
    • BUF (Rats lost, haven't played)
    • DET (Rats lost, haven't played)
    • CHI (Rats win, haven't played)
    • Miami (Rats win, haven't played)
    • MIN (Rats haven't played, won)
    • NYJ (Rats haven't played, won)
    • NE (Rats haven't played, won)
So far, we're doing OK on the common opponents although neither team has a common opponent yet.

Of our common opponents, we've beaten everyone we played so far. They are 2-2 (but maybe the two hardest teams on the list).

They are also 1-0 in the division and we're 1-1.

As always, really want to get at least 4 wins in the division. Need to at least split with the Rats.

Didn't they face each other last year?

Yep, the Steelers knocked Herbert out of the game.

The Ravens aren't going to win out.

Definitely. This is a big one. They are quite injured offensively (missing starting RB Hampton, Back up RB Harris, starting T Alt, starting T Slater), but they have a quality QB in Herbert and good receiving weapons (McConkey, Johnson, Gadsen). They aren't a great defense but aren't bad (seem susceptible to the run). This feels like won we need to win to take some pressure off us down the stretch.

Really the next 3 games are huge. If we walk away 3-0 vs the Chargers, Bengals, and Bears... then we really put ourselves in the driver's seat for the rest of the year. Lose a game and a lot of the games become "must win" down the stretch. Lose 2 or more and we put ourselves in "must-win" nearly every week.

Correct, someone mentioned the last Tomlin faced Harbaugh in 2011. Herbert came into the game nursing an injury last year and when the game was going the Steelers way he went to the bench.

Didn't we beat Chargers last year with Fields at QB? Harbaugh was coach.

Was Jim the coach last year? Then they are 1-1 head to head.

Yes. If he was the coach, Tomlin beat him last year. With Justin Fields.
