So the phrase iron sharpens iron has been thrown around in the first week of camp. What are some of the thoughts from you guys and girls about Burns actively seeking out AB and wanting to cover him? BY all the accounts I'm reading Brown is poised to shatter his numbers from last year and none of the Dancing with the Stars stuff seems to have affected him. He has been just on fire and showing Burns just what it would be like if he had been drafted by another team. To Burns credit he keeps coming back and the Steelers. Live crew says that while Brown is beating Burns it is making Burns better against everyone else and that in several instances a lesser player than AB would be covered and not catching some of those passes. So what are some early thoughts on this draft pick?

I think that is a great thing..If he can learn to even half cover AB then we have found a Franchise CB...

I hope they don't plan on lining him up against AJ Green in his rookie season. Go against AB all he wants during camp but in regular season action they should probably dial it back quite a bit.

Burns is a work in progress, he will probably get his confidence shattered trying to cover AB.

yeah but they are saying he keeps coming back and had to be called off by Tomlin because he was trying to trade and get back on Brown. Have to admit that is ballsy

He is going to have to spill some blood to be an asset for the team. Regardless of how or what Antonio does or says, Artie needs to able to accept failure time after time, build upon his successes, and come back.

Brown is rapidly increasing Burns' development through tough love. This is what is going to be needed in order to take on the tier one threats in the AFC in years to come. Right now, should he obtain playing time... any time he earns is essentially worth more than gold.

Problem is AB is such a technically proficient guy that it's just not a good test against some of the other receivers out there that actually have the size/strength and use that to their advantage. Might make him better at defending guys like brown, but the big guys are going to knock him off-stride with a better punch and size. Would be nice to have him working against Bryant as well at this point, but alas......

Its like men playing with boys, there really is no doubt that AB is head and shoulders over Artie
but as anyone who has competed knows, it is much better playing against talent than it is playing against some scrub.

That's what I was thinking might be a risk they are running in doing that. I'm sure any corner in the league would like to think they are good enough to cover their team or any other teams number one though. Hopefully AB gets a deal he's happy with so we don't have to see Burns covering him in a game.

I love it. He got embarrassed by AB on Sunday at camp but, if he wants to keep coming back for more, than I am all for it.

He's not going to have his confidence shattered. He knows what he's getting into. And going up against the best in the league will only slow it down and make it easier when he faces the rest. If you want to get better, you have to practice against the best.

    Bingo on the bolded.

Artie does not shy away from AB.... he directly challenges him time after time. From the beginning of camp.. that is who he challenged.. and lost to many times.

For that matter any player, regardless of position, whose confidence is shattered just by measly practices should quit and go find their nearest knitting circle.

From the media that has attended training camp they said Burns looks lost out there, now he has a injury. I wouldn't expect him to play much this season, unless there are injuries at the CB position.

Tomlin sounds more and more like Belichick when he gives the media an injury report, he wont talk about greens 8 month absence due to injury other than to say he is on the PUP list, if it's just bumps and bruises then players play through those dinks and dings, they don't tap out.....
