What inside linebackers do match up well on wide receivers? Timmons in his prime shouldn't be covering why receivers.

Wheaton isn't going anywhere and I will be surprised if Jarvis goes as well. Wheaton said staying is his first choice.

I agree. If he would have had a solid season I would've expected someone to poach him like they did all the Bengals WR's. He's having such a bad year I bet he returns on a 1 yr prove it deal.

When they say 'it's not about the money', that's a signal that it's all about the money. At this stage of Timmons career, he knows he only has a yr ir two left, so I'd expect him to sign for as much upfront money as possible probably with a team with lots of free cap space.

The Steelers have been reluctant to give new contracts to older LBs on the downside. They won't offer him much. Timmons might come back, but only if there are no other options. I suspect one of the 32, will offer him more than Pitt will and he'll be gone.

Solid player at his peak, though.

Not wide receivers haha. I do not think many outside of Ryan Shazier, Deion Jones, and Luke Kuechly can. For that matter, I do not think Timmons is matching up with them as he is playing zone coverage on his side.

What I am referring to is tight ends. Lawrence used to be very good against them. Now that he has lost a step, he has become a liability in coverage.

Well ya gotta give tomlin credit. He picked Timmons over Woodly as a 1st rounder. He was right on that one

Timmons: he's already been making great money, so I can see him honestly being more interested in a ring than even more cash (i.e., the difference in what he'd make elsewhere v. here). I don't think he's been put in good match-ups in coverage this season. I could see him go if he feels he's being used poorly by Butler, though.

Wheaton: the shoulder injury crushed his big-money hopes. He wants to stay, we like him, there's no guarantee Bryant stays clean, and Ben's still the QB. He stays.

I don't know how much sway being a Steeler has these days. I do know the team is always expected to make the playoffs and is perennially in the preseason SB-pick conversation. That has to count for something with experienced players who've already put some money in the bank.

I don't recall Timmons getting beat by a TE more or less than most other IB's around the league as a matter of fact I think it's a myth. Exactly how many times has he been beat this year?
