Here we go again....I want to see balance, that is easy to achieve but to be able to be a run first team you need to have a good o-line, average will be a start but the sub par rag tag group the the Steelers have isn't going to run the ball against even a mediocre defense. We also don't have a defense to support the old style offense, and if nobody remember it let me remind you what that looked like. Those were the days if the team won by 3 or less it was close, if they won by 7 it was a good game and if they by 10 or more it was a blow out, and the reason was the defense. This defense can't hold a 10 point lead for an entire 4th quarter, we saw that this year, we also saw the team play kill the clock and leave very little time for the opponent only to watch the opponent go 92 yards and do it effortlessly, and we also had a defense that allowed only one RB to rush for over a hundred yards once in over 2 years and now we give multiple RBs big games. Would I like to see that kind of offense...Yes!! Would I like to see that kind of offense with the players we have on both sides of the ball right now...NO. This team could have a great balanced attack, the RBs are good as well as the WRs, TEs, and QB, but they need to get stronger up front if they are to have anything that looks like a running game. I hope Rooney gives just his wishes and perspective and leave to rest to the people he put in place because we all watched the debacle in Big D were the owner has so much say that they haven't won a playoff game since 96.

I think the return to the run would fit the offensive personnel that we have, assuming a healthy OL.

I think it comes down to this. You look at past history with Big Ben and he has had more success when he generally has 25-30 attempts per game. When he reaches 40 attempts his numbers are usually bad. This past season Play action sucked because we had no running game. This will be the direction we will head. Trust me.

talk about the pass first league. 3 of the last 4 still standing in the PO's were balanced good running teams. the pats may throw a little more but that's because of their qb. he's able to do it, but they ran very efficiently against bmore. the saints were ousted and the packers were ousted, they were the heavy passing teams. oh and us. i trust this o-line gets some better players added and we get balanced. not run first. balanced. that means we do either with good efficiency. our D is not as bad as people are making it out. sure we need some of the old guard replaced and it does take time for these guys to get to a higher level. we do however still have a very solid base still in place. both sides of the ball just need some minor tweeking with fresh players and they will get them.

haley ONLY got the chiefs job because kurt warner came in and threw the ball all over the field to maybe the best wr tandem in the game during his tenure as oc in az.

his accomplishments in kansas city? minimal. shoving matches with his qb on the sideline and a vp who couldn't wait to shove him out the door.

his biggest 'pro' is that he has roots (through his father) in the organization?

if rooney is becoming jerry jones and insisting on an old school (see: antiquated) philosophy focused on running the ball, it seems unlikely haley would he his top choice. who was the running back for the cardinals in XLIII? how well did kc run the ball this season after charles went down?

maybe haley IS the answer. i don't know (i tend to doubt it). but it seems unlikely we'd move in that direction. he doesn't really seem to fit the character of our coaching staff. he feels more like a josh mcdaniels type. maybe they make better coordinators than coaches. i don't know. i just see a big personality clash betwen haley and big ben in the near future. some see that as a good thing. i view that as unhealthy.

Haley is totally wrong for the job and this board will be calling for his ouster before 1 season is through.
