Or realistically Tomlin says we don't seek to reinvent the wheel and they keep everything the way 7 liked it while they search for his clone.

I think those 2 are a last resort if a trade or the draft doesn’t bring someone else in.

I think the fact that he's staying around till after the draft means either the Rooney's wanted to keep him or they have absolutely no confidence in Tomlin drafting.... I'm betting it's the Tomlin reason

I like Tomlin but I'm not sure I'd like him in the Bill Belichick role. I agree.
Note: As I've mentioned, I worked with and within the Washington team... GM is a HUGE screw up there for decades, since Snyder ruined everything.
I don't think the Rooney's are stupid like Snyder. I can write a 10,000 page essay of that clown's failures.
A good GM is required. lol...
I am kind if mixed on Colbert, but it seems like a good way to pass the torch, as well as keep the coach from making bad decisions.

A little tie but on the radio today that sheds some light on how much GM power Tomlin has versus what the fans thinks he has.

Mike Hinton was never offered a contract by the Steelers. Hilton was a Tomlin guy. Hilton was Tomlin’s favorite player on defense and a guy Tomlin wanted brought to Pittsburgh. If Tomlin had as much power as the fans think he has, an offer would have at least been made.

How exactly? A GM retiring after the draft? What sense does that make at all??? If you have a better thought please share...

Colbert has been on the road scouting these college players this past season.
