Art Rooney II Interview - Hines/Ben

Interesting info from the man upstairs:

"In a wide-ranging interview on Monday afternoon, Steelers President Art Rooney II said he would characterize the team’s season as disappointing but wouldn’t go so far as to say it underachieved; that there will be conversations with Hines Ward over the next several weeks about whether he will be brought back for 2012; that Ben Roethlisberger may have to adjust his style of play a little bit in order to stay healthy through an entire season; and that the seating capacity at Heinz Field will be increased by 3,000 for the 2013 season."

1) I hope Hines comes back. His leadership is still needed in the receiver core.

2) Regarding the comments that Ben needs to be coached, it looks like Art Rooney II sees this, as well.

take tom clements and fire ba, is so simple

 

Am I wrong, or wasn't Clements one of the early QB coaches in Ben's career? If I remember correctly they used to "butt heads" a whole lot. Ben didn't want the coaching he was getting.

 

If Whiz ever got fired I'd take him back in a second. I'm sure Ben would love having him back too

 

I don't think Ben wants ANY coaching! JMO!

 

I hope some changes are made.Ben DOES need to be coached.He needs a coach,Not a friend.I think we can fix our problems on offense If everyone is on the same page.Were in this together.Our Coaches need to do their jobs also.

 

so means this one is a good one , ben doesn't like to study , tom clements teach rodgers and mc flinn with some success

 

As much as I'd like to see Hines back this is Art basically telling him that he will have to restructure for alot less money.
Need to draft to protect Ben more if he wants him to be around for a while.

 

I never understood why you pay a guy $100 mil but dont pay anyone to protect him.
