Arnold Palmer passed away Sunday Evening.

He was born in Latrobe and today there is a statue of him there. His dad was the greens keeper at the Golf course in 1921 and became the Golf Pro there in 1933, the same year the Steelers were born.

He was a die hard Steelers fan and reportedly never missed a game if possible.

Steelernation has lost its most famous & tenured member.

    RIP Arnold Palmer

He was the man and will be missed. Our game yesterday was just to much for him to take.

    RIP Arnold Palmer.

I remember my dad was a fan watching him while I was a kid.

I'm not much of a golf fan, but I sat right behind him and watched him tee off for his last U S Open at Oakmont in 1994. It was fun to watch a legend.

I saw this. They actually were talking about him during the broadcast. I don't think he had passed yet, but they were talking about how he was probably watching the game. Then they rolled into a small golf joke or something.

He was well known for showing up at training camp because he lived in Latrobe. Tunch was talking about him showing up all the time and everyone stopping to talk with him!

Would have been nice to send him off with a good performance on Sunday, but alas, it was not to be.

The golf world lost a statesman.
