What has changed on this team since last year? Ben is supposedly healthy which good but how about the rest. Is our Defense better? Our OL? Our pass rush was nonexistent last year. Seems to me Ben better be able to put up 30+ points a game or its going to be a long year.

So - you're saying that our defense is going to give up 29+ points a game??!! Really? Even if they HAVE taken a step back - they didn't go THAT far back.

As far as what has changed - our offense has a new focus - and should be more efficient and explosive at the same time.

Assuming their healthy - the defense is still the best in the league and, at least in preseason, seems to have figured out the "create turnover" problem that they had last year. If they can add some turnovers to the rest of the D, there's no WAY they take a step back in points given up.

Throw the no pressure last year arguement out. We were without a healthy harrison wood combo worilds was hurt for awhile and we had to play an ilb at olb and at one point a raw rookie on the other side

There's just as many (maybe more) questions regarding Denver as there is the Steelers..
I'd rather play them now, before Manning develops chemistry with his receivers.

I'm curious...how did Denver get so good since last year and we got so bad? Did I miss something between the two seasons? I really thought I was keeping up with things (thanks Mac) but apparently I have been fed misinformation. I guess I understand some of it since we have never beaten a Payton Manning led team and since Denver, the powerhouse running team that they are, is without Tebow who accounted for how many yards of their rushing? Get over the loss last year. It was a fluke, pure and simple! If someone would have told you guys that Tebow was going to beat us in the playoffs with his arm last year how many of you would have bet the farm against that happening? I know I would have and so did the Steelers. Yes, it bit them but I bet they would have made the same bet 6 days a week and twice on Sunday. Anyhow, Denver is not nearly the walk on water team that some of you are making them out to be and we are not nearly the keystone cops team we are being made out to be. Stop worrying so much and get ready to enjoy the season!!!

We do have a tendency to lose in Denver, and of course the 1st game of the season always presents an enigma, you never know what your going to get for a couple of reasons...Ryan Clark sitting it out is a big negative for us, going into game 1 players tend to run out of gas in the second half, mainly because they havent played for 4 quarters in 7 months, and they will get tired quicker in that high altitude thin air: You will see a lot of them sucking oxygen on the sidelines thats for sure: So the negatives against us in this game doesnt bode well for this team: In summary, we can win this game but the physical factors against us doesnt favor us very well.....

this post makes more sense than 99% posted here.. totally agree on ryan... as you all know i say we lost without him to tebow so imagine manning.. and the thin air anytime is a factor.. especially for the first game.. especially for guys that have not practiced (mendy, harrison, worlids) ... that post says it all.. good job !1

Didn't we win a play-off game there and win a lopsided affair a couple of years back? I already know the answer because we won the Superbowl that year and I was at the game a couple of years back when we blew them out of the water after they were off to a 6 game winning streak!

Im sorry, but I see the Steelers walking into a buzz saw on this one.

No Ryan Clark plus Peyton Mannings first game back in two years and on prime time. Its a recipe for disaster.

I hope Im wrong, but I have the Broncos winning this one.

I like that we are being given no chance by anyone in the media. We often have played our best football when this occurs.

I also think that our offense with Todd Haley is being really undervalued by the media. I think his play calling is going to have a great impact on this game and also the whole season.

yeah I dont understand all the doom and gloom. We might as mail this one in since some fans think we stand no chance of beating Manning. Missing Clark is indeed a problem and I am not going to pretend it wont be a problem. People forget we have a damn good offense and a very good coordinator who obviously had a role in picking personnel that would make the biggest impact given Haleys scheme. You can be sure we are going to put up points on the board and we have a better more capable offense then Denver IMHO. In fact this offense is the best I have seen in years on paper.

I say we win by a small margin if we are good on special teams ( Rainey returns one) and we don't settle for field goals such as in the past.

:steelflag: :steelersrock: :beathorse: ( this is a donkey being whipped by the Stillers lol)

Of course if I was a broncos fan I would be feeling really good about my chances lol

As far as I can remember Mike Tomlin has never won in Denver. In his first season with us we lost by a crazy last second field goal. Then I don't think we played them again until the playoffs if my memory serves me correctly. Am I wrong about this? I'm strictly going off memory but i think I'm right though.

Nah, we beat them pretty good in Denver a couple years ago. That was without Clark. Kyle Orton was the QB.

For some reason I can't even remember that game. I have a feeling that I won't have a problem remembering this one though.
