You act like if they had beaten the Ravens in the playoffs last year that would somehow change your life

I agree but would also say Tomlin is far closer his end than he is to his beginning.

I'm not the same, and the difference is , I don't hold it against anyone that likes a playoff win here , or there, but I will tell You the very 1st thing that goes through my head when we make a AFC Championship game, and we lose......the 1st thing I think is.....we might as well lost the 1st playoff game. I receive no consultation in it for having won a couple of playoff game. I see many do, but I don't.
Again this is how I look at it all.
Preseason success: make it out without injuries.
Regular season success: Hopefully get 1st seed, but at least win enough to make the playoffs.
Post Season success: win enough games to make the SB. Nothing more ,nothing less. The only way I see any success in just winning one ,or two playoff games is if.....
    1. We have a rookie HC, or ....
    2. We have a rookie Qb....., and I only count that as success because then they have a bit experience in the playoffs.

I respect your take but can see where it will lead to many years of sadness between SB appearances. While the Steelers have averaged a SB appearance about every 7 years, it's clearly clumped around young, top end QBs. The intervening years are an arid expanse of mediocre football.

btw, there was a study done a while back that basically concluded that if a new pairing of a HC/QB doesn't result in a SB in the first 5 seasons, it likely doesn't happen at all if the two remain together. Food for thought when they draft their next franchise QB.

I tried telling this to Raven, and Bills fan, but they don't want to hear it, but that's what history has shown many times

There is a first at everything....I mean,Cowher has won his first super bowl at his 14th year with the steelers and I am sure this is by far a NFL record for the longest wait before a super bowl win with your current team

I think Andy Reid is second,he won his first super bowl in his 7th year with the chiefs

Bill Cowher had no chance to win a super bowl with us in the 2000s according to some stats like that

He didn't, until he was put with a different Qb. Go back, and read what he wrote, and what I agree to. Same with fat Andy....after he got a different Qb.

In Cowher's defense... I think Donovan McNabb was better than O'Donnell, Stewart and Maddox. Put McNabb on the '01 Steelers... that sh!t would've been dope!

True but it still take 14 years with the steelers to win a super bowl,by far a NFL record for the longest wait for a head coach with a current team

The Cowher/Roethlisberger was a new HC/QB pairing... so it was in the 5 yr window.

    And yes, there are exceptions.

Those fans need to start worrying. More the Bills than the Ravens I think.
