Are our first bunch of plays scripted?

Everything is scripted until Mitch starts running for his life behind our oline.

 

So, first play

 

They do have planned plays based on down/distance/circumstance

You see the coaches holding these

But if the second play is 2nd and 15 verses 1 yard they will not use the same pre planned second play they will use the first one that fits the conditions

 

This is great preparation, especially when they need to call a play in a few seconds. Going back to Mason against Detroit last year, seems like there is evidence that they don't veer off of this plan at all.

 

Part of it is these are the plays they practiced all week

If they call something they haven’t practice you raise the chance of breakdowns

I also realize if what you are doing doesn’t work try something else (I kept from crashing in an airplane based on this thought one day)

 

Totally understand making the plan, rehearsing the plan, and executing the plan. However, there has to be variability and adjustments for when said plan isn’t working.

The script is to choose from the following:

- run, run, sack, punt
- run, sack, sack, punt
- sack, sack, run, punt

 

That’ll get us to 8-8-1 so long as they don’t turn the ball over
