According to this article, Ben and Haley's relationship is not great. The article states that the comments about Ben using last years signals didn't go over to good. It states that it was indicative of a QB who didn’t trust or feel comfortable with the current system, interesting.

The article also states that Tomlin wanted to hire Kirby Wilson as the new OC but couldn't wait on his health issues. He felt like there was no one better out their then Haley at the time and that Haley might not be available is he waited to see is Wilson's health would hold up. It stated that Tomlin might have felt pressure coming from ART II to run a tighter ship this year.

Also it states that maybe Tomlin would hire Wilson next year which would mean a one year stop for Haley.

Seems like to me that Tomlin is not running a tight ship this year in regard to what the Rooney's expect. I didn't like the way Roethlisberger had his arm around Tomlin's neck at the end of the Eagles game. Seemed to buddy buddy to me. I could see that sort of thing happening at the end of a Super Bowl! I don't ever remember seeing that sort of thing with Noll or Cowher.

since i said this on a lot of threads before i didn't want to seem to harsh against tomlin but
he is not ready to be the head coach we need , he is not in control and doesn't fear anybody , lack of discipline is evident everywhere ( for me )

You mean this article? Which offers nothing of substance? Just I heard form my sisters uncles brothers cousin? And you know what, who cares if Ben and Haley aren't chummy? I thought that was the whole point? You guys are worse then a hair salon full of 60 year old women.

So from what I'm reading from you guys...
It's bad that Ben and Haley don't get on.
But it's bad that Ben and Tomlin do get on.

    Have I missed something?

It was real, real bad that Ben and BA were buddies.

This is probably not much. But just like Ben likes to make sure the whole world knows of his little aches and pains and how he heroically overcomes them, he also is making sure the whole world knows he's not totally thrilled with Haley's offense, and but he'll heroically overcome that too. Just like when he told the world, that he called last years plays in one of the games.

It's all fairly harmless, he's not insubordinate, he just wants to throw his weight around a little, as an elite NFL QB should.

I read this article on NFL.COM and it's total crap. The "journalist" doesn't site ONE SINGLE SOURCE. NFL.COM is a VERY bad place to get Steelers news. It's just "I've heard" and "some have said" or something like that.

Let's start here....I hope it is a one year Gig for Haley as this would mean that we made a lot of noise this season and Haley gets a HC offer...I think Haley has proved what a real OC can do for Ben.....

Now to the next part....I am sure Ben really doesn't like Haley,,,because for 1 he had to much Love for BA and this is the guy who took his place so IMO Ben will never have that type of Love for Haley no matter what Haley does for his game...

Now let's address the part about the possible new OC....Again another positive as this guy is a Teacher as well...He is a student of the game with a different type of style than Haley...So if he does happen to come in he will build on what Haley has taught him and teach him the things that he knows....This will help Ben to get even better IMO...

AS far as my take on Ben,,,,, I really don't care if Ben Loves his OC or not ,,,the only thing that matters is ,,,is Ben being Coached and taught things he should have beeen shown long ago???? This may result in a Elite Ben for a few seasons.......If so I can Live with that.........

Only time will tell,BUT, in your evaluation after the season lets see if #7
has improved as a QB ? I think one of the reason's the Rooney's hired Todd Haley
is to try to get improvement out of #7. He is great right now, but they and I think
that he can be SO MUCH MORE. Think about #7, did he make any strides/improvement under BA?
No, he basically did what he wanted to do under BA, FREE REIN. Throw interceptions
like crazy, unprepared, make dumb mistakes. Now if Todd Haley can change some of this
and the Steelers can return to 50/50 mix(highly unlikely OL problems) then we will see if Todd Haley has been an improvement for the organization over BA.

Do you really think the Steelers base head coaching decisions on message board banter??? Tell me that you were being facetious.

Also, what has Haley proven about what a real OC can do for Ben? Is it the 2-3 record, the loss of his ability to win in the 4th quarter (his best attribute), putting up 2 more points per game, reducing sacks and interceptions? Come on, after five games Haley has not proven anything?

The new OC is a Teacher and a student, anything else, how about a Fighter and a Lover, a strong man and a tortured soul, a predator and the prey, a Left Offensive Tackle and a Strong Safety. . .

On another point, why the f do you use so many commas and periods. You type like you are nervous.

I'm pretty sure PWP meant noise on the field, not noise on the message board.

Also pretty sure he was talking about Haley getting a HC offer somewhere else, as it would mean we did well offensively for the rest of the season.

I think it would be great if both Ben and Haley had a joint press conference where they confirmed they did in fact hate each other, as the media has been speculating, and they are now both learning sign language so they can sign everything to each other and not have to talk ever again.

That would result in a day or two of articles responding to the comedic press conference, and then that topic would die forever.

LOL, thats the first thing i thought of and was scrolling down through this and was suprised nobody jumped on that santeesteel. you were on it. as far as noll and terry, bradshaw stayed as far away from chuck as he could. LOL noll was always benching TB for hanratty, or gillum or whomever else was around when TB would do something dumb. he didn't wait for the OC to do it. it was pretty amuzing to watch at times, but i think CN made him a better player doing it over time. good coaching i'd say.
