And yet they sucked last year with those same QB’s.

Without the QB...all those "savior" head coaches get fired. Vrabel did get fired because he didn't have the QB.

There is NO NFL coach exceeding the W/L record of the Pittsburgh Steelers with lesser QB play than the franchise has experienced from 2020-2025. Zero. None. There is no NFL team or head coach winning playoff games with equivalent or lesser QBs. None.

Until the Steelers are able to upgrade the QB position, the rest is shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic.

Ok but that doesn’t have to do with dismissing these new HC’s winning this year with the same QBs whos teams did poorly under different coaches. And TLaw is playing his best football ever under Cohen. Coaching matters.

Also let’s not act like Arod isnt a big step up from what they have had in recent years. He’s no scrub.

I heard a stat 3 coaches are winning with teams that were 11 loss teams a year ago. Vrable is one.
    Coaches do matter, alot.

They have not only won a SB, they haven't been to a SB in over 30 years. 30 years, but guess what they got a playoff win trophy. LoL

Here is a stat....how many of those turn around teams from last year with the exact same HCs didn't make the playoffs this year???
People crown people too quickly, and I will bet really money that at least one of these so called turn around won't be next year.

Out of the 4 that did.
Chicago was 5-12 last season. They should get better as they have a decent coach and a QB that's getting better. I think a lot depends on the front office and how they draft and work free agency.

Jacksonville was 4-13 last season. Definitely better coaching there. I think they did a nice job on the roster. Not sure if they can sustain it though.

New England was 4-13 last season. Drake Maye is developing nicely and Vrable is probably Coach of the Year. I think they will be in the race next year.

SF was actually a 11-loss team last year that is in position to be the #1 seed this year.

    I can't anoint any as a dynasty.

    Last year playoff teams.
I think Harbaugh and Tomlin are in trouble. Chances are slim either gets fired but they are on hotseats.
The rest of the AFC coaches that made playoffs last year should be ok.
The exception there might be - Buffalo's coach... He does need to find the next level. That would be a drastic move.

    In the NFC
Dan Quinn is on a hot seat.
Todd Bowels might be, not sure.

    So I agree there's a chance 1 won't be back.
Nice job on fixing that profile pic.... way better.

I'm still irritated that they moved the game to the evening for the first time ever. I will be forced to mostly watch it live just to get it over with soon. I would have loved an early game so I could just watch it in 30 minutes via condensed game.

But yeah apathy has taken over for me. It's been building for years and feels like I'm in groundhog day. I could just slowly be loosing my love for the nfl and the Steelers are the last piece to fall. Slow decline though. Been part of my life since early 80's but maybe getting too old for this nonsense.

I've already become a pretty casual baseball fan, will kinda check during the year to see how the dodgers are doing but mostly just wait until the playoffs to get into the sport.

Always go for eliminating the Ravens. No one knows what will happen to Tomlin, even with a loss tomorrow

Before those 5 years, Steelers had a HoF QB and still didn't do much for a good 5 years.

But I agree in that they royally screwed up the QB position. they had no planning at all to replace Ben. For a "management" team they sure sucked balls moving on from the HoF QB.

    Coaches are certainly important.

But not nearly as important as players. Particularly QBs.

Hell my head might explode with one playoff win, and just look like a competitive team against their next opponent. I would take that and maybe be reinvigorated a bit. Or maybe not. LOL

And the seahawks move on from Carroll after 2023 despite his great career in Seattle, but it was time and look how great Seattle are this year!

Not real sure about that. Especially OC's. The OC's have to find ways to play to a QB's strengths.
BUt the HC has to have the entire team in a direction and system that they buy into

And I would say Rodgers is playing at a higher level than Peyton was that season.

I would said that in 2015,Manning was possibly the worst starter in the NFL....9 TD and 17 INT in 9 starts

I agree with this. Every QB is a “system QB” to a large extent. Some have a bit more scheme flexibility, while some are entirely dependent on their system and having strong teammates around them (see Brock Purdy). I don’t think I’ve ever seen great QB play from a QB who wasn’t playing in a system that focused on his strengths and covered up his weaknesses.

Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck.
