Mac my issue is we as a team are supposed to be physical and all that yet our DB's are never in on a play and you can't hit what you can't catch. All in all the Hawks D is what we once were

You make a good point. We're obviously in a transition period for this defense... If we're going to make a scheme change, the time to do it is now.

badboy, i think we can still change what we do out of this same 3-4 defense. maybe some of the old guard are not good at the new system because we drafted zone cover people. we proved last year against the patriots we can play a different style. i think it stunts these kids growth not playing for 2-3-4 years and then expect them to step in and shine. they are going to make mistakes and get beat at times, but aggressive mistakes can be tolorated, because they will make plays too. this is exactly when they should be playing, while we have some vets still playing and interacting with them. it even can elevate the vets games. sitting on the bench gets us nothing but more uncertainty down the road.

Well all you people make good points, BUT, you must have the PLAYERS capable
of doing these things. Do we have the players? Once again it goes back to player evaluation,
Look at what the Steelers have accomplished in the last 6 yrs under Tomlin and Colbert in OL
and DB's evaluation and selection of these players? Are you happy? the Steelers have tried for years
in these 2 areas and have failed miserbly. I guess a better question that I hope the Rooney's are asking
Coach Cliche, I mean coach Tomlin and Colbert are what type of defense are we going to put on the field?
Are we going to abandon the 3-4? if so, do we have the players on hand, able to go to a different defense?
These are the questions I want to know. WHY have we failed so miserbly in these areas?

WR is the least of our problems, (TE Miller) is having a career year, you will see Heaths
numbers starting to drop because he will have to stay in more to help block because of our OL.
It all goes back to GENERATING A PASS RUSH this is where the Steelers have failed for some time.
Hence the poor secondary play. ATTACK and let the chips fall where they may.

I think everyone is missing the point that Brady was more likely blinded by the absolute hideousness of the Seattle uniforms...
