What is strange about it? Going to church is strange or firing a weapon at a range is strange? Or Are you implying that someone who loves Jesus Christ shouldn't exercise his or her 2nd Amendment rights? In case you didn't know, there are millions of Christians who are proud past and current members of our Armed Forces and NRA members. If thats what you're getting at, then I would say that your comment is even more strange and more than a little bit un-American.

Easy Knox, I'm not saying any of that. It's just God and Guns aren't two topics that merge when I think of them. It was just a joke.

I'm not going to get into a religious debate on a sports board.

I'm thankful for our armed forces, wasn't trying to offend anyone.

Well it's not strange to millions of God fearing American patriots. IMO, the fact that someone wouldn't view a love for Jesus Christ and protecting their constitutional rights together seems strange to me. The two things go hand in hand in my world.

Been a big 1911 fan for a long time. We have mostly semiautomatic handguns of the popular calibers - 9 .40 .45 and tons of long guns. Most recently picked up an XD. 40 subcompact. Sweet gun that I'm really loving so far only have about 500 rounds through it. Looking at an M&P 15 AR type rifle. Thanks for your service and God Bless Coastal.

Interesting thread. I guess what it says more than anything else is how easy it is to talk about something OTHER THAN the pro bowl (thereby answering the original question). Thanks for the reminder the game is even being played. Oh, and probably take the 'OVER' in the betting line.

I have not seen a Pro Bowl in more than ten years. However, I think I might watch this one (of just some of it) - why not?

Well since there are billions of people in the world I bet there are millions more who do find it strange. Only a gun nut would take what I said and turn it into an argument. Own guns and protect your home all you want Knox, I don't give a **** and wasn't challenging your right to do so.

Went to the Pro Bowl in 02. Bought the t shirt, got the beer cup. My ticket was $20. Was in the shaded side of the end zone with 25 people. Had to buy the whole tray of beer from the beer guy $120 because for some reason we couldn't keep him in our zone. Most of the scoring was at the other end. Fun Fun Fun LOL :herewego:

No need to get testy with me Tomlin_era. You made the assertion that my post was strange. And I asked you what was strange about it. You said that God and guns together in a sentence was weird. Still not sure what's weird about it. But I respect your right to believe whatever you want. I have and would still today fight to protect your right and freedom to believe whatever you want. But please don't demean or insult what millions of men and women have fought and died to protect. This is a predominantly Christian country like it or not, and our constitution provides us as citizens certain rights. Considering those two things, I would say that God and guns fit together just fine. I don't know you nor do I have any interest in knowing you. You took the first jab and all I asked was why you felt my comment was strange.

To the OP, my apologies for hijacking your thread. To the point of your thread, I have little to no interest in the pro bowl; therefore, I am choosing to partake in other activities that I find enjoyable with other like-minded folks. And I can guarantee at least one person who would never be part of those activities with me.

Ok... I know better... I been telling myself to stay out of this, and not get into a religous/political debate on a sports message board, but I just can`t help myself... (God help me...)
Knox, while I strongly believe in the right to bear arms, and defend ourselves, from all threats, internal, and external...
And, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being willing to go to another country and defend those rights...
You gotta understand that Tomlin Era was NOT "calling you out", being "testy", or "insulting"...
He pointed out, himself, that he was simply making a joke...
    The gist of it being...
Your God preaches 'mercy", and "turning the other cheek", and even issued the COMMANDMENT... "Thou shalt not kill"...
So, I would hope you could understand why some of us find it humorous, that you would go to church, and worship that benign God, then go "shoot up a target range'.
( I hope you put up Bruce Arians posters to shoot at..)
Personally, I like the quote from one of our military commanders( forget which one, but I think it has been attributed to Shwarzkopff)... That...
"It is God`s job to forgive... our job is simply to arrange the meeting"...
Pretty sure that pre-dates the first "Gulf War", but it was attributed to him nonetheless...
And while I agree with it, I can also see why others wouldn`t...
    ;)

Little sensitive tonight eh Knoxy? Got your panties all in an bunch :hehehe: Anyway, BleedSteel said it better then I could, that was my whole point (Thanks Steel). I never took a shot at you, I just literally laughed out loud when I read your original post, just sounded funny to me and I typed out a light hearted remark, maybe a little too quickly, wasn't meant to offend.

Ok, not going to lie, I laughed out loud at that... and that's coming from a Christian who owns guns.

I have an AR-15 I like to take to the range myself. Although for whatever reason it isn't cycling ammo properly. After you fire one round it doesn't chamber the next one. I've tried the cheapest of the cheap ammo and also the expensive stuff too, same results. Any ideas?

I'm no gunsmith and I would definitely take it to a professional to get it checked out if it is happening that often. I would expect a decent AR firing quality ammo to maybe have 1 or 2 FTF or FTE maybe in 500 rounds or more. I'm assuming that you have thoroughly cleaned it and lubed it - AR's like to run wet. And try different mags - they can cause feed problems too. But if the problem is ejecting the spent casing and then chambering the next round, then I would suspect something wrong with the gas tube system or the bolt carrier. Anyhow, you should definitely take it to your local gun shop and get it checked out by a gunsmith.

Yeah, the problem is that it won't eject the old casing. I guess I'll have to take it to the gunsmith
