Don't take never a franchise QB as granted!

Of course it was time for him to retire but he was fun to watch during 15 years!

I watched his 50 best plays a couple weeks ago and wow...did we ever have it good. Kenny is not even close. To be fair, most QBs aren't.

It was funny when Mason came into the game, I was like come on Mason channel your inner Big Ben, and ignore the plays coming in and start drawaing plays in the dirt and throw the ball down the field.

And then I watched the Steelers run the ball 2 time up the middle down by 17 to finish the game out, and said nope; he is running exactly what Mike Tomlin and company are telling him to run. :(

Ben was a bandaid on an axe wound. He would probably take himself out of the game at this point. Steelers have turned into a crap sandwich, with a side of crap.

I notice they’ve shelved Dobbs and are on to Flacco. Shameless.

of course we miss him, the Ben from 2018 and earlier. He was done, by then......

    ALL GREATs die out.......

BUT - he fell short too. He and Tomlin underachieved. He and Tomlin had the best offense in their hands for 2-3 years and could not produce.

I don’t think there were many who felt he wouldn’t be missed but all good things must come to an end. It was time for Ben to go.

We were maybe a little too hopeful of finding his replacement quickly. Kenny has one more year to prove he is it.

I miss his playmaking ability, grit, and talent.

I don't miss his passive-aggressiveness and his injury dramatics.

In terms of the current situation, his and Bradshaw's comments generally get eye rolls from me. I can't put my finger on why or verbalize it, but when guys like Hoke, Hoge, or Clark criticize or speak their mind, I take it more seriously than either of the two former QB's who both seem more like they're saying "Look at me!" more than anything else.

I miss him as much as when Bradshaw aged out. Only difference I liked Bradshaw off the field where I did not like Ben off the field. A lot of you enjoy his Podcast but he'll never make the movies like Terry did;)

    I guess.

I am thinking Kenny will be on a short leash.

My prediction will be a full turnover in coaching - including HC. Kenny will get a shot, but there will be a draft pick waiting in the wings, and maybe even a big FA splash, we will have to see what Khan thinks. If he can't generate offense, he will be pulled, once and for all. I have gotten sour on Kenny. But I wish the BEST for him, for our TEAM, so we will see....

It is frustrating we couldn't sniff a Super Bowl with the Killer B's, but no one was beating the Patriots around that time.

Yep, I miss him being the QB for sure. Even when he got older, he still made you feel like there was a chance to win. Not so much like that the last 2 years after he left.

    Well put. I agree.

Tomlin and Colbert let the defense turn into a shell. Ben was the glue.

the year we lost to JAX was the YR we had the roster to do it.

    13-3 season.

Should have been scoring 30+ points a game.

but you are right in that TB12 was always the hurdle that Ben and Tomlin and Cowher could not overcome. they all sucked at it - Belicheat OWNED US - still does.

In fact, WHENEVER we did get there, it was NOT thru NE.......someone always knocked them out or they were not there...

It still is pretty amazing that the Steelers went to 3 Superbowls during the prime years of Brady and Peyton Manning.

2014 was a good draft with Tuitt, Shazier and Martavis Bryant but after that, our drafts were bad especially on defense with T.J Watt as exception

The Steelers biggest problem wasn't the Patriots....I mean, they only played the Pats once in the playoffs in the 2010s...Cowher played against Brady-Belichick more often than Tomlin in the playoffs

The loss in 2017 vs Jaguars was a disgrace and the gameplan vs Pats in 2016 was the worst I've seen on defense but they kept Keith Butler for 5 more years after that

Back when Ben was playing, and Ben would maybe have a bad game or 2, Steelers fans would say he sucks or something.

I would always say.. your gonna Miss Big Ben someday....

    and here we are...

But truth be told with this team I don't think Ben would be much better with it.

I have been saying even before Ben retired that we will see what Tomlin is made of when Ben is gone. Always said that Ben carried Tomlin for years, and look at where we are today.

No....Not his fault if the draft was not good for the most part since 2015 at least
