The replacement came yesterday and I've had a chance to get a few hours in, and I must say this game is pretty sweet. :-D You weren't kidding about the horsemanship being difficult at first. I'm pretty comfortable with it now, but it took some getting used to. I still can't hit the broad side of a barn, even with auto aim on, so there's plenty of room for improvement there. I was in a couple shootouts and it took some time for me to figure out that you can't fire from behind rocks in certain positions. Also, it took a few hours of gameplay for me to get used to crouching with the left stick. I'm so used to going faster with the left stick pushed down.

I was hunting outside of the ranch, and someone started shooting at me. You shoot at me I shoot at you. Well, suddenly I was wanted and a posse was after me. Lesson learned. :lolol:

I don't know if you watch an MW3 vids on youtube... or past CoDs for that matter. But there's a BEAST of a player who's been fairly famous within the CoD community since the CoD4 days.

And I got into a match with him last night. :D Quite by random too. I was just lucky enough to land into a lobby he was in. Thankfully, he was on my team (playing Mercenary). Unfortunately, he was wrecking so many people, that the rest of us had a hard time finding anyone to kill. :roflmao: I wish I would have been able to play in that lobby longer, but my wife woke up sick. I had to leave the game and go tend to her. I tried to get back into his lobby a little while later, but there wasn't any openings. :( I joke that I was glad he was on my team, but it would ahve been fun playing against him too. Even if I went 1-30, if that one kill was Sandy, it would have made my night. LOL (not that he never gets killed. It happens to everyone. But it's a lot tougher killing him before he mows you down and just keeps on running)

This is the guy I'm talking about. Sandy Ravage:

(Just a warning: He likes to insert "Duke Nuke'em" quotes in the vids. One or 2 moments of naughty language for those with sensitive ears)

    [youtube:8ck9sbn7]eJG8di3u7MI[/youtube:8ck9sbn7]

    [youtube:8ck9sbn7]7FtSazyJtFs[/youtube:8ck9sbn7]

    [youtube:8ck9sbn7]mt_UWMlCqy4[/youtube:8ck9sbn7] (25-1 in 60 seconds flat)

    [youtube:8ck9sbn7]bjZMwjf5zZE[/youtube:8ck9sbn7]

It's like getting into a pickup sandlot football game, and your team is the Steelers. LOL It was not even fair.

Well, I might as well start preparing for the next few nights of inevitable Night Terror that those videos are going to cause. Absolutely insane. I mean...how the? At first I was thinking, oh MW2, I haven't played that in a while...that could be fun to revisit. Then, my jaw just dropped wider after each multi-kill. I may have to sell my xbox on Craigslist later today. :lolol:

He's stupid good with the SPAS-12.

I saw you in my lobby for like a second last night. I tried to get in a couple of yours but I guess it wasn't meant to be. You should be able to find a player and watch their match.

    That would be cool.

I was having issues early last night. I kept getting kicked from lobbies and a message saying the MW3 servers weren't available. It was rather frustrating. But after I reset everything, it was fine, so it was probably an issue on my end. I tried inviting you to a party, but who knows if it even went through the way things were bugging out.

My first Birthday present I earned just after midnight. A GOLD MP7 :) My first gold gun in MW3. :herewego:

I did get your invite, but I was doing too good to get out of the game in progress (which was a rarity last night bc I was getting my can handed to me). When it was over, I tried joining up with you but couldn't find a spot. A couple of the lobbies I was in earlier on in the night were getting moved around a lot so maybe the issue wasn't just with you. Oh, I've got a Turtle Beach headset on the way that I'm pretty stoked about.

Wow, good for you. :rawk: The only golden gun action I get is when I'm lucky enough to scavenge one.

Hehehe. The funny thing is now I'm conflicted. Part of me wants to rock that gold gun the majority of the time. Part of me wants to work on getting gold on my other favorite guns.

I have fall camo on the SCAR and PP90M1 and red on the ACR. But they'll all take a long time to get to gold as it takes just as much xp to get from 1-30 as it does to go from 30-31. (lvl 31 is how you get gold)

If a situation like that happens again, invite me instead. :) Never leave a good lobby. They're hard to find. (then again, eventually I'm going to try to pull you into a match with the C4B guys if there's room. I think you'll have fun)

Speaking of Sandy Ravage, he uploaded 2 vids. I'd call them rant vids, but he's too calm for it to be called a rant. Maybe "sermon" might be a better word.

He's being the voice of reason about how to get the most enjoyment from the game. I can't disagree with him.

But, TTF, after last night, I think you'll love part 2. :) I'm only linking it instead of embedding it because at the end, he includes some lobby chat, and the language is how you might expect it to be. So warning: a little naughty language for those who don't want to hear it:

OHH! I have played with him! Mr Mojo Ravage. A week or two ago I think, and yeah...he frickin' destroyed me. :lolol:

Also, I'm pretty sure I played him a year or two ago in MW2. I say this because of the Duke Nukem 'Sucks to be you' stuff. I wondered what that was about...it freaked me out.

I liked his speech about the bullets from the head and smack talk. 'Don't be that guy' lol. During the video, he had an assist that counted as a kill. I don't think I've seen that before.

He has 3 gamer tags that I know of. Sandy Ravage, Akimbo Slice, and Mr Mojo Ravage (the one he's currently playing). I remember playing a guy who was just too good named Akimbo Slice back in MW2, but I didn't know it was Sandy at the time. :lolol:

The assist that counts as a kill is from Hardline Pro. If you ever saw my classes, almost all of them have it. :) They don't count as a kill in your count. But every 2 (3? don't remember) assists count as a kill towards your streaks. Assassin has it's uses, but once you get addicted to Hardline, it's hard running anything else. Or maybe that just speaks to my development. I always ran UAV Jammer or Assassin for flanking. Now, I don't see the need. I play with even more abandon sometimes, so hardline is useful in that very long streaks aren't likely for me. :)

Ha, small world. Akimbo Slice was a name I'd see quite often on MW2. He was annoyingly good. :)

That's cool, I use hardline on a couple classes, but hadn't encountered that (or just hadn't noticed). I'm going to rejigger my classes next time I'm on and change things up a bit.

The Turtle Beach headset came today, and wow...just wow. I cannot believe how they change the game experience. It took a great deal of red neck engineering to get them to work with my xbox. My xbox is a couple years old and I'm guessing the audio ports in the back are different. Anyway, after some creative wiring I popped in MW3 and I was floored by what I've missed all this time. I mean...really?? First, the sound in general is just awesome. Probably 10x better than what I hear from my tv. Second, I can't believe all the additional sounds I've never heard. Footsteps sound like drums now. :rawk:

Welcome to the world of sound whoring. LOL

Use Dead silence, or Sitrep pro, and it's almost like cheating.

Just a word of caution: sitrep PRO takes a long time to unlock. I haven't even bothered this prestige yet. But once you do, the other teams footsteps sound like elephants stomping around.

Dead silence, your footsteps become so quiet that you, yourself can barely hear them. So you hear everything else much better (that, and nobody can hear you coming until it's too late).

Gotcha, thanks. I almost never use sitrep, so the next game installment will probably be out before I reach that achievement. Dead silence will be within my grasp soon enough though.

I read that Strikers were nerfed the other day, so that's another positive.

    Yeah... no.

Geez, two? Well done, sir. :applaud:

I've been so dang busy lately, I haven't been able to play much RDR. I have played a few rounds of mw3 here and there, and have definitely improved due to sound whoring. :-D

It's amazing what Dead Silence and Turtle Beach can do for you. I'm really trying to improve with a couple weapon classes, mainly the L118A as I'm trying to get good at quick scoping, but it's frustrating, and I find myself regularly switching back to the PP90M1 silenced w/rapid fire, which I'm becoming somewhat beastly with if I do say so myself.

HA! Harharharharharhar, boy did a few good rounds go to my head. I was on for a little while earlier and I was bouncing from one lobby to the next, getting pretty thoroughly destroyed in most of them. You might as well just get rid of Mercenary, since half the time teams are so organized they just steamroll through the map.

It's not so much organized as getting on teams with bad players. Players who just want to find a dark corner and hide on objective games drive me nuts. I was in a Dom match, well, several actually last ngiht where me and 1 other guy were the only ones even trying to move or cap. the rest spawned, moved 3 feet and laid down. Ugh.

Playing with the C4B guys is spoiling me. :roflmao:

Yeah, I don't get it. What's the point if you're just gonna spend the whole match prone in one spot? I guess that's fun or challenging for some people.
