Has anyone heard about the progress on Shazier? Is he getting better and is his career done? The media has stop talking about it. Just wondering.

Haven't really heard much information. Certainly not enough to say he'll never play again.

Nothing to report. He has a long road ahead of him to walk and lead a normal life.

I dont think football is even a consideration at this point.

Im sure he'll tackle that one when/if he's back to 100%

Medical Technology has came a long way. I'd say his chances are 50/50 on playing again. Plus, he has to make the decision to return to football and the risks involved. The question is... can he play at the same level prior to the injury?

Anyone know whether the "50" shirt that the players and coaches are wearing are available anywhere? Just can't seem to find them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. I will take a look. Hoping to find it at a store. Not very trusting of Ebay.

Unless things have changed over at ebay, just look at a sellers rating and comments. Ive never had a problem getting stuff I've ordered.

I havent used it in a while though.

I use Amazon a lot more than eBay as a buyer. I prefer to buy from Amazon. I've bought a few things from eBay that ended up being shipped from China and this wasn't listed on the item page. As a seller, I haven't used eBay in many years. I used to sell golf clubs, guitars/basses, recording equipment, ski equipment, etc. It's impossible to profit or even break even on eBay after Paypal, eBay and shipping fees.

eBay was great when it first started. I joined in '99 and it was a great tool to sell used gear back in those days.

My dad is a retired Anesthesiologist. I ran into a fellow doctor he used to work with, who is still a practicing Orthopedic surgeon. His words were with the surgery Shazier had in extremely major and delicate, and said he would be amazed to ever see him play football again and if he decided to do so, it be down right crazy.

I think that your not hearing much is a sign that he is not 100% well I'm sure he facing a long road just to lead normal life again.

But, I believe his football days are over sadly. Hopefully Ryan gets 100% better, seriously one of the friendly pro-athletes you can meet.
Met his finance, as I sat near them a Penguins game last year during the Pens playoff run. Very nice down to earth people. Not stuck up or anything. Kind of cool he had a Pens jersey with #50 that said Mr. Shazier on the back and his finance's said Mrs. Shazier.

Hopefully he gets better health wise, and can continue with life's work, if that is football oriented or something else.

I never had a problem with E-bay. I just buy a gift card so I don't have to use a credit card.

I actually hope Shazier never plays again. I'd rather see him live healthy and full life. Not worth the risk with a spinal injury.

I don`t think you have to worry about Ebay anymore. They have a policy to make good. One time I had someone fail to deliver on what I bought and I got credit back on PayPal. You have to go through the reporting process though.

Not smart. Credit cards offer protection if you don't get what you paid for, gift cards don't. Always use a credit card

Maybe he can become a coach, stay connected to the team.

Certainly if he is healthy enough to play again, then he is a healthy person. I agree that he may become healthy enough to play but choose not to put himself at risk again. Either way, I expect the team to address the ILB position during the draft or via free agency. Should Ben return, they may look harder at free agency.

If you get into his story, he's been a football player since he was a young kid. His father is into football, too.
It's hard to imagine a life without football for him.

I do fully expect he has a football life after that scare.

As a coach, assistant, trainer, motivational speaker or something; However, it may not be as a player anymore.
I do expect, too, the Rooneys to look after him, geting involved in some kind of position within the team.

I buy and sell quite a bit on ebay. Just check seller ratings, and also be cautious of sellers without many ratings. Outside of that, ebay generally takes the buyer's side of things if there are issues, but I've never really had any issues in 15 years of using ebay.

Ryan just finished his rookie contract worth 9.5 mil and the steelers picked up his 5th year option worth 8.1 mil for 2018....

I expect at some point he'll be put on IR for 2018..... His 5th year option contract is fully guaranteed vs Injury.....

He had spinal stabilation surgery meaning a vertebra was broke, possibly needed a cadaver bone to repair it or fused with other vertebra..... Bottom line professional football is out as far as playing is concerned...... Hopefully he can stay connected via coaching etc....
