It was and still is. The vistas up here never get old (which you already know and enjoy) - reminds me a lot of Switzerland, especially this year with all the green growth at ground level.

Are the creeks still running fast from all the snow melt? I'm trying to get up there next month.

About half the depth they were a few months ago when summer began from what I see. Lots of unusual (to me) runoff onto roads but I'm sort of a newby up here. As usual, lots of water rescues and deaths of the zero Mensa types.

I'm still working on improving those captures and adjusting lighting and focus and waiting for Big Jupe to reemerge a bit earlier in the evening and rise in the sky away from the atmospheric distortion near the horizon. However, if you'd like I can upload some great shots of Uranus but then this site will probably get shut down again. :lolol:

Beautiful. I spent a half a day taking pics and videos from that same bridge and the surrounding area. Talk about A Peaceful Easy Feeling!

For those not familiar with the Alabama Hills area along the Eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains outside of Lone Pine CA it's where 1000's of movies have been filmed ranging from a multitude of westerns (How the West Was Won, Django in Chains) to sci-fi/futuristic (Tremors, Star Wars, Star Trek, Iron Man) to most films featuring the Himalayas as the backdrop (Gunga Din, Charge of the Light Brigade, Bengal Lancers).

Here's one I found a few years ago - I call it Proof of Prehistoric Plumbers. ;)

Yes - Lake Havasu and the "London Bridge". The Town and bridge were developed/purchased by Robert McCullough of the chainsaw industry. Havasu was my 2nd home back in the 1970's/80's. Many margaritas consumed at Miguel's Cantina (sister bar/restaurant of Baja's oldest - Hussong's.) :drinks:

The landscape there is like the surface of the moon. We went there about 12 years ago in August and it was 118 degrees in the shade! Then, 2 years later, we went in May. It was only 110 degrees in the same spot.........and people live there on purpose!
