I haven't heard any further updates on Pouncey's status since mid October when there was the rumor he may have a second surgery.

Last timeline for return was at the earliest Week 12, but I haven't heard anything further, is he out for the season officially at this point?

Welcome to the board. I saw that he was out of his walking boot a couple days ago. Tomlin didn't have any updates about his status when asked about it in his press conference yesterday. He's not out for the season officially yet, but IMO the probability of his return doesn't look good.

I personally don't think your going to see him this season. Maybe playoffs, but not sure you want to make that switch, being that he hasn't played at all since pre-season.

Not gonna be popular, but I'll say it:
Trade him while he's still worth a mid round pick.
This guy is a time-bomb and (luck or injury-prone) seems to be much more time on IR and crutches/walking boot than protecting our biggest asset.

At this point I would probably just shut him down for the year. Our line is playing decent with Wallace in there so why mess with the chemistry over half way through the season. Also you figure it will take him at least 2 games before he is fully clicking. Let him heal completely and really focus on strengthening that area as much as possible.

I too wanted him traded prior to big money... Great player, but expendable since he's been here.

    Agree.

On a side note, I just can't help but watch the clip in your avatar over and over again. When my son-in-law and I saw that play, we both thought that Clark had just killed McGahee on national TV.

I like Pouncey I think he is the best center in football when healthy. Down side is he injury prone, and you can't have guys getting paid like he is missing the whole season. Plus the offense has still been pretty good without him, using a journeyman like Wallace, to start.

I would try to trade him to see what you could get a 3rd-5th round pick wouldn't be too hard to get.

We are going to need those funds, for Bell, AB, and Bryant.

I highly doubt Beacham will be back. When AL is signed for only 525,000 next season.

Pouncey will be back. Wallace is a serviceable backup that can't do as much as Pouncey and what he can do, he cant do nearly as well. Steelers know this and will pay him and will hope the fluke injuries stop.

Well... Wallace can stay healthy enough to contribute, and that seems to be an issue with Pouncey

Pouncey will not play again this year ...He will need 6-8 more weeks to get into practice shape and then 2-3 more weeks to get into playing shape ....He has a outside chance to play in the Superbowl if needed... Dr. PWP has spocking...

These aren't Woodley type injuries, I think the Steelers will bank on the odds that he won't keep getting unlucky. He played every game last year, so its not unheard of for him.
