What you saying is technically true, leaving the 5-8 teams out of this, assuming that 8-8 won't get you in. The only teams that can finish 9-7 in the WC race are Indy, Pit, Cincy and NYJ. If the Colts finish 10-6 and the Steelers, Cincy and NYJ all go 9-7, if Pit has beat Cincy they take 2nd in the divsion, and will win the TB w/ NYJ on head to head.

If the Colts go 9-7, and so do PGH, CIncy, and NYJ. And the Steelers beat Cle and cincy. They will eliminate cincy. The 3-way tie NYJ, PIt and INdy will give NYJ the #5 seed on Conf Record, and the Steelers/Indy TB will come down to Strenght of Victory which the Steelers would probably win.

The best the Bills can go is 8-8. If the Steelers are 8-8, I would think Cincy would take their spot.

Cleveland may also still have a shot. They can still finish 2nd in the AFCN at 8-8 by winning out. By Cincy losing out and by Pit losing to Dal/Cle.
But these are very very low probability things, one in a thousand chance kind of thing.

 

After watching the debacle of a game against the Chargers, playoffs should not even be a discussion. The Steelers were not supposed to lose this game but they found a way.

Dallas and Cincy will beat us? Everyone said that Philly would beat us after we lost to Oakland. Everyone said we had no chance against Cincy and New York after we lost to Tennessee. In fact after that Tennessee loss, the Steelers went on a 4-game winning streak that was arguably stopped only because of the injury to Ben.

This team does have a resilience that they will hopefully prove over the next 3 games and beyond.

It's pretty simple, win these last 3 games and they are in the playoffs as a wild card, or if the rats keep sliding down after losing two in a row and lose out, the steelers win the division, they shouldnt be thinking otherwise, this team should not be thinking they have the luxury to lose 1 of these 3 remaining games, theres nothing that leads me to believe that a 9-7 record will be good enough to get a wildcard seed: Win out and get in, nothing else can replace that mind set, they lose to dallas sunday and the bungles beat the eagles as they should then as far as i'm concerned this season is over for the steelers, besides, if they dont win these last 3 they dont belong in the playoffs anyway IMO.................

 

Why would he have to find a new team to cheer for?? Because he isnt saying we are going to win out and win the Super Bowl? This kind of stuff really pisses me off.
