Am I right in assuming that if we win ANY 2 of the next 3, we are in the playoffs?

I know we aren't going to beat DEN in Denver, we can't even beat TEN, OAK, SD, or CLE, and we need to be hot going into the playoffs blah blah.....etc. I just want to get in!

However, I am going to the DAL game and have a long drive home afterwards. If we lose that game, I know we still control things by winning out with everyone laying an egg today. It wouldn't ruin my trip to lose (totally).

If we win in Dallas, are we afforded the luxury of only having to beat EITHER CIN or CLE to get in?

Our division record would be better than CIN if we beat ONLY CLE after beating DAL
We win the head to head vs. the NYJ if they win out and we win 2 games.

My understanding is the Dallas game is much less important than the two after it.

That said, we still need to win to keep pace with everyone and their grandmother gunning for our wildcard spot.

If the Bungles drop to philly after we beat dallas, we'll be in a much better position moving forward.

I forget if we play the Clowns before or after Cincinnati but all in all to make it simple, all we really need to do is beat Cincinnati.

I think it'll depend on what Cincy does. I'd say we're definately in if we win out. Short of that, we'll need help from other teams.

We need all three as wins.

We play Dallas after the Eagles play the Bengals this Thursday....so we'll know.

But, I don't think it matters who we beat so long as we do it twice. Cleveland is the last game of the year.

If Cinci beats us and Baltimore, they are in and we are out, even if we win 2 out of 3. We need to win 2 of 3 and beat Cinci to be safe. Anything else means there's a good chance we miss the playoffs

Why? If we beat CIN after beating DAL...CIN is out no matter what they do. They are 1-3 in the division now.

Here is a scenario where the Steelers win 2 of 3 and the Steelers not making the playoffs, with the 1 loss coming to Cincy.

    The Steelers must beat Cincy!!!

This makes me very very sad.

if we don't get the division and get the wildcard we have to go to Denver

    UGH....
    UGH.

But if Baltimore and Cleveland beat Denver, we play Baltimore.

    I'm down with this!

this is true only if the Ravens beat the Bengals on the last week.

Ah yes. It's our conference record under that scenario that gets us....sorry.

    Thanks.

    I could see that happening.

    I'm hoping that happens.

    I want Baltimore, not Denver.

That other scary scenario of us beating Cincy and losing to Cleveland with San Diego possibly sneaking in.

That's exactly what I said. If we lose to Cinci, we're in a lot of trouble.

Another Scenario has us playing Indy if the Ravens beat the Bengals on the last week.

The only way the Steelers play the Colts in the 1st round, is if one of them wins there division.

    I'm done. Too many possibilities.

All I want for Christmas is Not-Denver.

    Yes. You are right. Thanks.
I thought we had the division tiebreak against CIN, but we don't. The only way we can get in without beating CIN is if the Eagles and Rats beat them.

Even that's not a guarantee. There are other teams in the mix, it's not just us and Cinci, even though we're obviously the two favourites to get in at this point

Lets not forget the Chargers and the Jets are on the outside hoping we and the Bungles eat a big bucket of Chokesauce so one of them can sneak in.

Who. The Jets? As soon as we drop the games versus DAL and CIN....I know we are out. I am just looking at how good our chances are with winning 2 of the last 3 (no matter who it is we beat). It is 100 percent if we beat DAL and CIN. It is 100 percent if we beat CIN and CLE. It is not 100 percent if we beat DAL and CLE.
