Just as bad as when people said T.O not a hall of famer. It's about what you did on the field. You can't tell the 100 plus yr history in the nfl without taking about the guy that had the best stretch for any receiver in his Era, all decade, multiple time pro bowl, all pro, got the ring etc.. he's a no doubt hall of famer. Should be first ballot if we're being honest.

AB was great. I don’t know if anyone is really disputing that. Whether you like it or not off field issues greatly affect peoples perception of AB. He will probably make the HOF, but my guess is his antics will make it take longer than it should have.

For me all is forgiven with AB. I think he has a mental disorder to be honest.

With that said, I would welcome him to retire as a Steeler if he did one simple thing...

Apologize to the Steelers players and ownership for his antics.

It's really that simple to me.

He won't do that one thing. That is why I dismissed this report from the beginning. There was no apology. There wasn't even an acknowledgement of the opportunities the Steelers gave him. It was just Brown doing what he does, selfishly focusing on what he wants.

I guess we can add the criteria for Hall of Fame selection to the many issues you don't understand. Off-field behavior, or idiocy on the field, are part of the equation. At the very least, those things will keep him from getting in on the first ballot. They may keep him out entirely.

To be clear, I think he is a Hall of Famer, but I'm not sure the voters will agree. At the very least, I think they will make him wait as a penance for his disgraceful, selfish behavior.

He put that out right before his May 20 concert in Pittsburgh which was rescheduled

It is now scheduled for Friday it will be interesting to see if he puts anything out

    The facility holds 587 people

Lots of tickets are still available

It's a travesty he's not in. But his situation is entirely different than AB's.

They only do that when they don't like you. None of this was brought up until T.O was a candidate. He just wasn't likeable by many and they were looking for reasons to deny him but could only do it for so long. It's several people in the hall of fame with very checkered history that don't get the same attention it does for others.

    He cheated

    Honesty and integrity are important

I know you have repeatedly made it known you don’t live by that

I live by it in terms of life. Not in the confines of a sport. Also he never actually failed a test. It was more probable than not that he cheated but it wasn't proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Still he was a hall of famer before he allegedly took steroids.

I've never wanted to wear them, as an adult anyway.

I wouldn't wear another mans name on my back. There's something about it that I can't do.

Actually, they could have done it for as long as they wanted.

Funny thing how the voters tend to dislike guys who disrespect the game and make asses of themselves.

No, you don't live by it, at least not from what we've seen of you here. You are a plagiarist. That is cheating.

AB needs to quietly fade into obscurity. He's become a pariah in the NFL and society in general due to his own selfishness and greed.

Ha, I know what you mean about the "too old to wear" a jersey. I still wear them to games, or maybe a game day party at a friend's house. But, I'm not wearing it as a everyday style when hitting the grocery store. I cannot bring myself to be that guy. Nothing screams "I'm trying too hard to look young and cool" more than that.

I wonder how AB's story will be told on NFL Network's "A Football Life"?

What the Hell does wearing a jersey say ....I'm trying 2 look young, and cool???
I think it's a lot funnier when I see a 20 year old wear a Lambert jersey. I'm like this guy has never even seen Him play ...besides highlights, but all in all ....I find No matter what the age....all it shows is that You like the team, and player.

Once a Steeler always a Steeler. If he's truly done and ready for a 1-Day contract you do it.

Nah. You would've had the integrity of the voters called into question, the players may have made a stand eventually, etc.. Plenty of things could've happened.

If all the players in the hall of fame decided to not show up for the ceremonies nor participate as a boycott to them not electing a certain player you don't think they would do something about that? You think they'd carry on the hall of fame with zero player participation?
