He wants to retire a Steeler because this is where he put up his HOF numbers. Now actually getting into the HOF is another story all together since he burned every bridge, he could possibly cross.

    Where else could he retire?

the Raiders? Pats? Pretty sure Tampa Bay would not invite him back

Again while he was walking off the field he was watching Pittsburgh five Ben an 18 year love letter send off

He is hoping for a little of that one last time .... if he wants to retire he can just do it quietly... but he wants the press one more time.

He should wait for three years after he’s last walked off the field to declare this

Let’s sign him to a 1 day deal, but trade him to the Raiders again before he can file his retirement papers.

I just think what could have been had AB had the mentality of a Hines Ward. We’d have been saying Jerry Who? It’s just really sad that his self-destructive behavior derailed what could have been one of the most amazing careers in NFL history and a first ballot HOF induction.

Mmm. Well, the only sympathy I have for him is he very well may have brain damage (CTE) and it probably occurred while he was playing for us.

He was great before he went nuts.

But to answer the question, doubt we give him the honor after all that has happened.

Mr Rooney bent over backwards for AB when he wanted out, I see no reason why he wouldn't do this.

I doubt that it happens but I could see maybe a possibility of it happening quietly after some time has passed. He was my favorite player until everything spiraled out of control. It's hard not to have some negative feelings toward him but I just can't get around the fact that it all may have been brought on by CTE. Which if that is the case it just makes me feel for the guy because it essentially cost him his career as a star WR for the Steelers, his entire NFL career and seeing as how people in this post even react... his dignity.

Unfortunately there is no way to know currently why they are still alive so I just feel its best to reserve judgement and remember him for some of the greatest NFL moments I remember.

I'll sell him back his jersey that I bought for my son to wear for the game I took him to where he was a no show against Cincinnati. My son doesn't wear it anymore.
