It was a win for the situation.

People seem like they forget (willfully ignorant?) of the fact that Brown drove down his trade value with his behavior.

If Brown was a model citizen then yeah it would have been a terrible deal. People want to blame Colbert which is simply laughable. There was very little of a market for Brown.

That's what happens when you are on video publicly stating that any team that'd trade for him would have to give him guaranteed money and play by his rules. Gruden is the only one dumb enough/ has the balls to take on a player like that who is almost certainly going to be a huge challenge to manage.

It's laughable the hot takes from the national media after AB went to the Raiders, they're going with the narrative the Steelers did AB wrong, or that he was somehow underpaid .

I can see it now...... carr drops back in the 4th quarter and finds AB streaking down the sidelines for a TD as time expires...
    Final score
    Chiefs: 47
    Raiders: 7

In what context are they saying their wrong? He was underpaid but he was the one who signed that deal so he gets no sympathy from me for that. Glad he did get his money now though.

So are you trying to say if AB was a free agent the only team that would have signed him would have been oakland?

I'll let you speculate the what if in a hypothetical fantastical situation.

I'll focus on what actually happened.

It's obvious if the Steelers could have gotten more than a 3rd and 5th round pick for him they would have. It's not like this was a secret. To blame Colbert is laughable.

No his numbers exceed Jerry Rice the past 6 years. He definitely was 1st round grade trade value.

It was his history along with his demands for new guaranteed money in a new deal coupled with his statement regarding him making the rules which destroyed his trade value.

Mostly according to it was his demands for guaranteed money and the new contract per report. Not going by what I think but what has been reported.

Odell according to reports wants his deal reworked too. And he did have the best 6 year stretch in history. Is he the same age he was all those 6 years? No he is not. Also remember HE WANTED OUT. Odell did not want out of NY and never said he wasnt open to coming back. That also plays a roll in the value. Teams knew Pittsburgh had no choice but to get rid of him because they wouldn't be able to go on without him. Giants could have moved forward with Odell.

You're funny you go in circles.

So YES you agree that Brown had diminished his trade value through his behavior. Thank you.

    I knew I was right. ;)

Brown looks like he’s been kidnapped and held at gun point. Probably upset that OBJ stole the spotlight. Have fun with the ride Chuckie

When he signed his deal in 2017, he was the highest paid WR in the league, so get out of here with that underpaid crap.

Considering he was only worth a 3 and a 5, then yes, that’s pretty much it.

Due to how rare it is for a non qb to live out his entire NFL contract they pay attention to the guranteed money over the overall money from the contract. That's pretty much how its viewed now

Moss was only worth a 4th at 30. T.O was only worth like a 3rd at 30. Ne traded a 6th and a 5th for ocho. If you can show me a WR at 31 who was traded for a first I'll be happy to see that. Tbh most are considered old at even 30.

Guess what, AB was going to play out his contract with the Steelers, and he would've got his 68 million. AB knew the Steelers don't pay big guaranteed money to non QBs, when he signed his deal.

I agree which is why I said he was wrong if he did this because of a contract but again I dotn believe. Look at what Jesse James just said.
