same, I respect Mike Mayock for doing this. of course, he had no choice once AB threatened to punch him in the face in front of the whole team...

    Joe Thomas‏Verified account @joethomas73

Nice job by Mike Mayock for finally disciplining the spoiled child, starting to treat him like every other player on the roster, showing him what accountability looks like and we might actually see a different Antonio Brown... But I’m not counting on it

Wouldn't it be something if he flames out so bad that he doesn't make the HOF? Or has to wait like TO!

    I'm decidedly meh on this.

They only have to discipline him because they were arrogant/stupid/naive enough to trade for him. While the short time and the severity of actions may be surprising, the ultimate outcome isn't. It was totally predictable and avoidable. The guy is a problem child and always will be. The Raiders knew it, but thought they could handle him. They couldn't.

In short, they needed to put their foot down earlier, i.e. not trading for him and giving him a new contract.

Exactly. He wouldn’t be risking 30 million dollars.

Steve Young just said on ESPN that Mayock was wrong to fine AB. He should be announcing that AB is special and will live under different rules than the rest.

He cited his time with Jerry Rice when his GM made it clear that #80 had different rules.

I wouldn't have expected that from Young!

I doubt they will ever trade with us again the rest of this entire century.

Which of course he will reject and take as a challenge to him, and he will lash out at some point making it even worse.

So the guy who spent his entire career ignoring one of the pillars of his religion(working on Sunday) thinks Brown should get special treatment? Yeah seems about right.

Drew Rosenhouse was just interviewed at the Bears Packers game and he did NOT look like his confident arrogant self. He said they (he and Brown) just want to be back with the raiders.

When will Tomlin and the rest of the front office start getting apologies from all the media that were stating that Tomlin had lost the locker room.

Apparently Tomlin and the rest of his staff were doing a hell of a lot more than what was getting out keeping AB in check all those years.

Everyone who beeyotched that the Steelers should have gotten a 1st round pick for AB look pretty stupid right now. The FO is looking like they made the right deal by getting a 3 and a 5 for this miserable POS.

    What a f**king clown

that's because he's acutely aware of the nearly $30 million guaranteed AB could lose...

The raiders haven't actually paid AB anything yet. He gets his salary for the season if he is on the roster for game 1. If he is suspended game 1, then they can pay him game by game. Plus, his signing bonus was only $1m which he was only scheduled to get half this season and half next season because it was a workout bonus that he had to attend 85% of team workouts. He obviously hasn't even showed up. Then add in the $53K in fines and this dumbazz is upside down. Real genius.

Gordon was never a problem in the locker room. He had outside issues.

I want to thank Brown for bailing the Steelers out. One of my concerns about trading him was that it demonstrated that if a star player wanted out of his contract with the Steelers, all he had to do was throw a tantrum and eventually the team would cave. That is what happened, but Brown's behavior as a Raider has now reached the point that people will see that as a unique situation.

Two organizations stupidly gave Brown everything he wanted no matter how badly he behaved, so his behavior got worse. If you really think this crap happens without the Steelers caving and the Raiders being dumb enough to give sign him to a contract with that much guaranteed money, you're kidding yourself. None of this changes the reality that the Steelers handled things badly by enabling Brown for years and then letting him run right over them in the offseason, but the consequences of their mistakes aren't nearly as bad now that Brown has upped the ante. Thank you, Mr. Brown.

Don't get too excited! Tomlin did lose the locker, and a ****load of fans. Maybe there were some mitigating factors but it was Tomlin and company who created the environment that AB thrived in.
