Anybody else think this was the cherry on top for Heyward packing it in? Clearly playing injured and watching a "leader" do that at the end of the game. I don't blame him one bit.

I realize you can't tell a lot from a still photo, but it looks like Rogers was trailing the play making himself available for a lateral. Where was Bell? AB is left handed so it would have been a little easier throw across field for him. He really didn't even appear to give a lateral a second thought, that's what pissed me off the most.

Chime in all 22 guys. Were there options?

No, I don't think the two have anything to do with each other. If Heyward could play, he would. NFL players never want to pack it in due to injury, they want to be out there playing (at least 99% of them anyway).

Brown is supremely talented, but I just have such little respect for him. I just can't get behind that guy. I think he's extremely selfish. He didn't want to lateral because he wants to be the hero, he wants to be the one that scores. Having someone else be the hero is incomprehensible to him. He's no Hines Ward, that's for sure.

I thought it was only me who was wondering why they didnt keep at least Bell close to AB for a lateral. If he was gonna run out of bounds, he could have at least done it with 1 sec on the clock for possible FG. A 55 yrd FG attempt is a better chance than running out of bounds at the 20 with no time on the clock.

    Bell stayed in to block
5 oline and a rb to block 4 dline and only 3 rushed ben

AB should have headed back to the middle of the field

and Bell damn sure should have trailed behind him

You are exactly right..He must cut inside,or stop and make them tackle him, pitch it back or throw it across the field...Stepping out is not a option...By stepping out he was saying protecting himself was more important than trying to win ....I don't think the Team should give him another big contract, he seems to be getting to selfish...

ive been saying he has been selfish since last year
i'd trade his arse at the end of the season for
new cleats for the entire team
    new clippers for the clubhouse
    different duct tape
    block numbers
    or
    a bag of UTZ

or to the Browns for the #1 pick in next years draft
only if Mitch Trubisky comes out early

We'll find out how selfish AB is when its time for his contract. Steelers will make him the highest paid WR in the league but just barely, if AB is as selfish as everyone says, he'll demand far and above that.

I guess I'm not seeing the selfishness or so selfish that it's a problem. Selfish because he demands the ball? Shocking, first WR to ever do that, at least you don't see melt downs like Dez has on the sidelines. Selfish because he danced and got a couple of meaningless penalties that affected nothing in the end? Maybe a little, doesn't bother me. Selfish because he ran out of bounds? Probably more frustration then selfishness over a game they should have won. He wasn't going to score, turning in and getting tackled wouldn't have changed anything, a lateral wasn't going to score from where he was.

Would be different to me if he quit with a possible lane along the sidelines, but we all know he would have stepped out again anyway on his way for a TD and that would be much more agony for me :lolol:

By all accounts, he works harder than anyone in practice and is the best WR in football. I'll put up with some "diva" like behavior.

When business is booming, the Steelers are booming.

(cracks me up that people get upset at his catch phrase).

I personally don't think he's that selfish overall. I just think he made a mental error on that play. IMO it was dumb and his not wanting to admit publicly that Tomlin got on him about it is dumb. "I don't recall" you don't recal a conversation that two coaches say they had with you a couple days ago? Come on AB you can do better than that.

I hope we're able to sign him, he's a great player and I'd love to see him and Been together for a few more years.
The amount they pay him means nothing to me. I've never worried about that.

Probably just didn't want to address it, Glenn. I like this response from him and Rays phrasing of the question.

I seriously can't remember a time when I was looking so forward to a game against a winless team. This is ridiculous. LOL!

Who cares? They weren't going to pull off a Cal vs Stanford play in 1982.

    All the more reason American Gridiron Football; college or otherwise, is so intriguing. It is the ultimate allusion to what Tom Hanks stated in "Forrest Gump";

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you goin' get."

They did...Eli Rodgers. He's in perfect position for a lateral. behind and at an angle.

Here's a good example of how Ben and AB work well together when improvising.
In pic 1, we see Ben looking right, nothing there.
In pic 2, we see Ben looking left, nothing there.
In pic 3, we see Ben taking a few steps scrambling, AB breaks his route and heads for the sidelines, Ben sees it, and we get a completion.

I see that - I also see Cobi Hamilton more open than AB downfield. Not sure from that angle whether it was a more deliverable ball, though.
