As far as I know we haven't heard a thing from Brown or his agent so it wouldn't surprise me if this was all much ado about nothing.

No one, theyd be paying him what a player of his caliber is worth in that situation.

And the Steelers should start operating based on hypotheticals? Football is a violent sport, might as well redo the whole teams contract based on that line of thought. Bell far and away outperformed his contract last year, maybe he should get behind AB with his hand out too.

That will almost certainly happen if we give AB a new deal.

He is under contract for 3 years so I would go on notice to the other teams that he can be had for 2 number 1's and a 2 and see who would trade for him.

I knew this was coming when he changed agents last year. Usually, if you change agents it means you are shooting for a new deal, why change if you aren't?

I believe the agents also handle endorsement deals. Maybe AB was looking to pitch insurance or Kit Kats.

Well, that doesn't really make sense considering he only changed agents briefly. It seemed to be more of a publicity stunt for Roc Nation than anything else.

Oh so this was all some elaborate testing of the reaction..... as AB has apparently stated that he is only missing the voluntary's due to his new born baby.

And he has since tweeted about being a father. This whole thing smells fishy.

I really have to question your logic and ability to perceive clearly. Bell was on the 2nd year of his rookie contract. That is hardly the same thing as AB situation. AB is the best WR in football getting paid as the 14th highest WR. That is out of line.

AB is the best WR in football being paid 14th. Sound fair?

He changed agents and then went back to the original agent. Fyi brown said earlier today he's spending time with his kid and will be there. As I said much ado about nothing.

Your argument is dripping with about as much logic and reason as a typical Amanda Plummer character.

He is simply one of the best football players in the entire world, not just the best wr.

By your logic Bell is far more underpaid than brown is.

For 1 year? That warrants a contract revision? Point is that he underperformed his first year of his contract.... and the Steelers didn't ask for a refund. He was a gamble signing that actually paid off in his 3rd season in his 2nd contract. Consequently, # of receptions doesn't mean squat any more with the ding and dent offenses played in today's NFL.

It's great that he's racking up all those receptions and yards, but......I'd also argue that his stats are a bit average in others. Kinda reminds me of Ben in the Arians years (racking up franchise and personal records, but not equating to SB wins).

Average reception 13.2 yards, ding and dent
1st down % on receptions 65%, sub par for an elite WR (compare to Calvin Johnson converting 83% into first downs)

I believe in honoring contracts. He agreed to the contract, he agreed to the terms, the Steelers are keeping their end. He should keep his. Some times you win, some times you loose. Look at Woodley for example. He got a huge signing bonus and was a bust. Steelers didn't ask for the bonus back. Fair or not, it is the way the union and the owners set the system. If I was him, I would honor the contract. If I was the Steelers, I would not discuss a contract for 2 more years. And I suspect that is what will happen.

That is if AB really is holding out.
