This player was another veteran infielder imported to fill a hole for a year. He has an interesting distinction: he may be the only player to be a teammate of both Stan Musial and Dave Parker! Seems almost impossible, but he was! He was also a Teammate of Minnie Minoso.

82 games over one season and a little tiny bit of a second season. He hit .188 as a Pirate. Nice ‘stache, though.

Nope, but he would fit right in! Also, not Vic Davalillo.

I'd have guessed Davillilo as well. Not looking it up, Manny Mota? Although I think he would have hit better than .188.

Nooooo, Manny Mota was long gone by the time Dave Parker came up. I will reveal the answer tomorrow morning. This one must be tougher than I thought!

And the obscure Pirate is…….Dal Maxvill! He bridged the gap between a fading Gene Alley and two up and coming shortstops, Frank Taveras and Mario Mendoza, who were spit out simultaneously by the then productive Pirates farm system.
Dal hit only .217 over his major league career.
