Thanks. It's not the same as NFL Network's games of the week. Those are an hour and a half, have commercials, and missing the less important drives and plays of the game. DirecTV's Short Cuts come with the Sunday Ticket package (too expensive, but once you taste it you cannot go back to looking at the score on the bottom of the screen of another f***ing Patriots game). They are half an hour long, have no commercials, and have every play (with only a handful of exceptions that I've ever noticed, and I believe they were left out by mistake as opposed to policy. They are edited in a hurry and aired the night of the game. They even show false starts, kneel downs at the end, etc.). The real time-saver is that they edit out ALL the time between plays. And of course, the commercials. But the plays go very fast. Ball hits the ground -- FLASH -- they are lined up and snapping the ball for the next play. 30 minutes straight. They rarely even show replays. Even most touchdowns are not re-shown. They only show a couple of replays per game. The number they show probably depends how long the game took.

When grading, I thank God for the skip-backwards-five-seconds button every day. And I have to mute it, unless I want to hear Phil Simms say, "Wow, what a throw by Tom Bra--Wow, what a throw by Tom Bra--Wow, what a throw by Tom Bra--Wow, what a throw by Tom Bra--Wow, what a throw by Tom Brady!"

It may take longer than expected. I've changed the grading system again, to make it more accurate. All defenders will be separately graded for run defense, pass defense, and pass rush, so that we can get a better idea of not just who is good and bad, but what they are good and bad at. Offensive linemen will be graded separately on run blocking and pass blocking, tight ends and running backs will be graded separately for run blocking, pass blocking, and running/receiving, and receivers will be graded separately on receiving and blocking.

I just finished the first game last night. No surprise, but a LOT of people did REALLY bad. Sneak preview just for you, diehardsteel, Ziggy Hood finished +1 overall, with only 2 plays graded.

I'm interested in your grading of our premier ILB Timmons, Franchise QB Big Ben and and the much hated W. Gay.

Well after week one, as you might have guessed, it's bad news across the board for those three.

I'll wait patiently for his final grade. I know what I saw all season long, and it wasn't pretty.

Yes, I'm trying to be patient too. Some of my guys did not look good in this game. Ziggy was only in for a few plays, because Smith started. He got a +2 splash play on one of his first plays in, beating Yanda and tackling Rice. One of those things you wish all our guys could do more of, including him. My guess is that he will fair alright in run D, but his pass rush will grade very low, along with all our other DL. But we'll see.
