For all you BA haters out there......

    http://communityvoices.sites.post-gazet ... -on-arians

    Intersting points in this article.

Our rivals DC (who is now the HC) want's him as OC.
(i'd say that was a compliment)
The much hated bubble screen had an average gain of 6.2 YPA.
    (that's pretty damn good)

As far as his play calling, we had an o-line that in 16 games, had 10 or 12 different variations. Kinda hard to call certain plays if your not sure that your QB is going to get killed or not. Correct me if i'm wrong but no team that had to go through that did good during the season much less the playoffs.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a big BA fan, but I think he did the best with what he had.
As far as a running game. Why would we want to run more than pass with the young kids we have as WR's? And no real stud at RB.

I agree with some of this.I don't think BA was totally bad.The problem with him was situational playcalling from the Redzone. If he was better at that,I think he would be one of the best in the league? We will miss BA at some point next year.I hope we find someone who can adjust to game situations and incorporate the run game better than BA could?

I agree with you completely. Fantasy football was the beginning of the end for real football...

:bs: The fact that you would start a thread with the phrase "BA haters" in the title, contradicts this statement. You are in a very small minority while the rest of us, including the Rooneys, are in the same very large camp. You would do well to quit licking your wounds about his well-deserved departure and start looking ahead rather than back.

Not to ruffle any feathers but I have always HATED fantasy football. I hate that they have it on a ticker when I am watching sports channels! Get that crap off my screen. Those who like it, have yourselves a great time, just speaking for myself, I can't stand it :frustrated:

Did you even read what I wrote? Much less the article I posted. I'm not "licking my wounds", just simply stating that maybe BA wasn't as bad as we made him out to be. Please pull your head out of your fourth point of contact before you post something.

One last time NM: the term "Ba haters" is a thing of the past now. Deal with it, your hero is gone. You and a few others on this board would do well to get over your BA love and move on to bigger and better things ahead for our team.

All I was saying was BA wasn't all that bad. Or could your feble mind figure that out. Dumbass. So who will you be bashing next year when things don't go your way and the Steelers don't play up to your expectations? You sir/ma'am are the problem with posting on a message board. Just because you wrote your verbal diarreah in bold letters doesn't make you intelligent. It makes you an idiot. Moving on.......

You're definitely in the minority NM. BA was/is not a good OC. For every article like this that might paint an adequate picture of BA as OC, there are dozens more that highlight the exact opposite. The fact that you want to sling insults around certainly doesn't strengthen your case either. It just makes you appear bitter. I'll have to agree with diehard that BA is gone and the Steelers and those tired of his garbage play calling have moved on. You should move on too.

Last year Green Bay had a bunch of key players on IR for the year, all the did was won the super bowl. The injuries aren't a good excuse, this is the NFL you must play the hand you are delt. I don't think anyone was calling for more running than passing, everyone was calling for better situational play calling. You can go 5 wide on every 3rd and 1 and expect that just because your wide receivers are fast they will get open every time.

Another person that didn't read what I wrote. BA is gone and if we find someone better that's cool with me. I just want the best for our team. All I was saying, and i'll say it again, is maybe BA wasn't all that bad. I shall say it again, MAYBE BA WASN'T ALL THAT BAD. I am not praising him one way of the other, just sayiing that MAYBE BA WASN'T ALL THAT BAD, WE COULD HAVE DONE WORSE. Good Lord.

I read what you wrote. Did you read what I wrote? BA really is that bad, let it go. This article won't convince anyone here to change their mind about BA's ineptitude and under achieving.

Averages, 6.2 YPA, are meaningless without also knowing the standard deviation. Averages can easily be skewed by having one outstanding result and the rest poor results. For example the two sets of numbers {1,99} and {49,51} both have average 50. But 50, as an expectation, is much more descriptive of the second set and not at all of the first set. The first set has standard deviation 69.3, the second 1.4. The lower that number is, the closer the actual data is to the average and that makes the average a more meaningful quantity.

Here is the thing while there are alot of people who do really hate the guy there are just as many of us who just felt that the team could do better. Now we will get to see if that belief was correct. I said after he "retired" that if I am wrong I will man up and say it, however I don't think that will be the case.

Well I'm with you guys. I hate the fantasy football garbage too. It requires you to pull for players on other teams to do well and that I just can't do.

Anyone posting a dissenting opinion, on this board, better be strong enough to face the mob. :lolol:

I hear you NM. The issues I had with BA were the 5-wide and empty backfield junk on 3rd and short, and the lack of creative running (due to O-Line situation). I've said it before... a better O-Line would have changed a lot, I think. Also, BA drew up many plays that could have worked if Ben would have taken the open, short receiver route for 3-7 yards. As I have stated before, Tunch Ilkin likes to point that out on Chalk Talk on Steelers.com.

Either way, BA is gone, and there is a great opportunity that the new OC will take full advantage of what he has to work with. Still, I do believe I'll keep an eye on the Colts, next year, to see what BA does, over there.

I also can't stand all this fantasy football crap. Watch football, cheer for your team, not individuals. Else go outside and play football yourself. I also think it really takes away from the sport and should definitley not be a mainstrean part of the game. I guess there is money to be made, and that is sad...
