An in-season social media ban would do wonders

Imagine if we could go an entire season without having to talk about what AB posted on Instagram. Or if we didn't have to analyze what Ben said on his weekly radio show. Imagine if we just got back to talking about matchups and good ol' football next year.

    A man can dream, right?

Pretty much, what the Patriots do. Seems to do them wonders.

Yeah I was thinking about this. I wonder if in the next CBA they can get players to agree to official player accounts run by team marketing and PR people? That way they still have the social media presence, but it can't make the NFL look bad.

Its not unheard of. Say you are an editor for a publication. You can't be spouting off some BS and not think there won't be repercussions by your employer, you basically have to hustle for the publication you work for.

    They do?

Tom Brady tweets regularly throughout the season, though?Edelman and Gronk likewise.

They don't have a social media ban and the steelers don't have a social media problem either. We have 1 meet head in AB that airs it all on social media. The pats players just know that if they are out of line even just once, they are out on their a$$. Steelers players know their behaviour has little to no consequences. That's the big difference.

Social media is only a small part of the current dysfunction within this organization. A social media ban would help stop the skeletons from escaping the closet, but it will not solve the non-stop drama that seems to go on in the locker-room. It takes real leadership from the teams coaching and management to solve that problem. Taking away social media is no different than taking away a ping pong table or mini-hoops. Demand that these adult men act like adult men, and then hold them accountable if they do not. That's how this gets fixed.
