Not going to bore yinz with a ton of pics. I’ll leave this here and maybe add more later as I can’t just click and drag from my phone. Twas one heckuva weekend!

Got to get the kids broke in, might’ve converted my mother in law from the Raiders hahahaha pop not so much but they could not get over the spirit of the fans and the obvious sports town love of their team in every book and cranny visited.

the whole “VIP” package experience was bitter sweet and once in a lifetime for sure but it did produce this gem!

Food was on point again, the whole on field experience was something else and the crowd was bananas at the game. Lower level seats in the upper north end weren’t near as good as our last visit where we sat in the club west area but they weren’t nothing to ***** about... good times can’t wait for the next trip! upload_2019-11-13_13-28-28.png

The posted text was from my little brother who couldn’t make the trip hahahahaha

It must have been a great honor to shake hands with a genuine hero like Rocky. He was on my favorite college football team of all time the 1966 national champions Notre Dame. That team was led by my hometown hero Terry Hanratty and had Rocky, Jim Seymour, Alan Page and JimLynch. When I was around 10 years old Hanratty gave me an autographed team picture of the 1966 team. I still have it hanging up 53 years later.

A lot of love love in that room that night... Watched mean Joe break down on stage trying to describe how much it all meant and gave all praise to Stallworth for that SB win. I think they're feeling their mortality on these get together soon and it was special to witness,

Indeed it was. We were kind of told that these gentlemen were here for the reunion and to re embrace their team mates and each other's families and not to bother them. Rocky came walking towards me and I asked "mr. Bleier, I met you when we were both younger men and no cellphone cameras and I'd sure appreciate a do over with thanks to technology." He laughed and I introduced him to my son and he went off the rails with him. "Young man what do you do where you from etc..." It was cool to witness their interaction. He then looked at me and said "you really drug your family out here from Bakersfield???" I said yessir don't know how many times Any of us have left to get to witness all of yinz in the same room together anymore as none of us are getting any younger." He said well then I understand and appreciate you being here! Was awesome!

After the pic and while further conversing, we got shoulder charged from the back by none other than swann! I had hoped to parlay that moment but when I said what's up swanny? He looked at me like I don't know you fool hahahahahahaha threw his arm around rocky and joined the rest of the group.

It was a very cool moment... Earlier I walked up to the drink station and mr. Rooney was there. I says mr. Rooney it's good to see yinz and he replied "yes it is" I told him thanks for the event and enjoy your night and best wishes with the squad this year. He said thanks and we parted ways. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I kept my cool. Had I been a few more cervezas in it certainly could've gotten awkward. Hahahahahaha

It's not funny. I used to work for the owner of that company. The refinery was in Tonopah but, his office and home were in Bakersfield.
    Sorry for hijacking. Go alumni!

I don't recall the address but, I know it was at the airport. This was '83-'85. His name is John Lyddon and the yacht was "Don Juan". Boat's still in Newport Beach.

I've posted this before - nearly 40 years ago in Jan 1980 in So Cal as Steelers practice broke for SB XIV against Rams, Rocky just walks up to me out of the blue and shakes my hand and thanks me for being a Steelers fan. OMG - I was so in awe I forgot to grab an autograph which is why we were there in the first place. Three biggest sports moments in my life: Meeting/shaking hands with Rocky; meeting/shaking hands with Bill Mazeroski in LA in the mid 70's; meeting/shaking hands with Doug Drabek at a hotel bar in San Francisco at the beginning of his 1990 Cy Young season.

I forgot, we're practically neighbors, just a short 90 minute drive along 58, 14, 138 to Phelan. We should meet up in Mojave sometime for a root beer float at Mike's Diner. :thumbs up:
