Allen Fake out Slide

    A QB is legal to hit once he's a runner. The rules for a QB are the same as for a RB and WR. If a WR slides and then gets crushed, there's going to be a flag every time. Same with a RB. It's not different rules for the QB, it's just that QB's tend to give themselves up and other position players don't.

    As I said, you don't need to lower your shoulder and crush a guy to tackle them. There's gentler way to tackle people, ways that don't involve committing at full speed just prior to a potential slide. Tackling is a dying art in the NFL. There's such little wrapping up these days. The QB's are taking advantage of it, but defenders can still play with better tackling and better decision making.

    It is very difficult for a DB at 190 - 200 lbs, to stop a running QB at around 250 without using the shoulder. Arm tackling don't work in that situation and they will get run over.

    I do miss our older defenders...... players as recently as Vince Williams would've rocked that baby to sleep

    If they would have hit him when he started to act like it, it would have been a flag at the minimum. If Kazee would have done it, it would have been a suspension of 2024.
