Who cares? They’re essentially throwing darts at a board. It’s not worth a hill of beans and means absolutely nothing

The power rankings are such a joke! I don't know we're they get these guys at to do these rankings? I could do the rankings better! I think sports writers are not as good as they used to be? It's a joke!

Most of our wins we actually got outplayed yet still won with a splash play or something. You can’t just go by the record you have to go by the way a team won.

The Herd with Colin Cowherd had the Steelers at #6, behind the 49ers at #4; but he also had the Ravens at #1 so go figure.

He did point out some 4th QTR Passer ratings.
    Kenny Picket 103
    Brock Purdy 54
And Brock Purdy in the 4th QTR when trailing...... 17

I was listening to some of this on the radio today, and missed some of it. It means nothing, but it's entertaining while working. Thanks for the post.

You actually think we belong above the Ravens right now in Power Rankings? That’s laughable. Did you see them destroy Detroit? They were up 28-0 before Detroit got their first 1st down.:blackeye:

You’re discounting the grit and moxie of this team.

Ravens usually do that to teams that run man most of the game. It's why I bet on the Ravens this week. It's why the Ravens always beat NE . Also....I don't believe in Detroit. They've played one legit team all year, and yes they won, but it was the 1st game of the season. Have You looked at their schedule??? While no team in the NFL is a push over....some teams give favorable match ups to other teams.

Not discounting it at all. Right now the Ravens are playing very good football. We are getting some splash plays here and there to keep this team afloat along with stupid taunting calls that will bite us in the ass eventually.

Given where we are currently in the season, I would feel like 8-12 would be fair.

The defense has done a nice job of keeping us in games and shown a propensity for big plays. If the offense can build on the last fourth quarter (ie - push the ball downfield, plays being made by WRs and RBs, o-line holding up), then I think we are trending upward.

A litmus test for me would be if the playoffs started today, how confident are we of working through a deep playoff field. I don’t have a great deal of confidence in that currently.

I didnt realize this was college ball, where rankings matter.

Win/loss record is the ONLY ranking that matters in the NFL

So if in a few games they are 10-2 and we are 5-7 but beat them then we should be higher ranked?

Of course not. I’m talking the here and now. We basically have the same record that they do and we beat them head to head so I think a case could be made TODAY that we should be ranked higher than them.

Your rankings are as bad as the professionals, if only because you have the Browns ahead of the Steelers. They have the same record and the Steelers beat them head-to-head.

That could certainly be debatable. Win this week vs Jags and they will move up the board.

No, it's really not debatable. The Steelers were the better team last season. Both teams are 4-2. The Steelers beat them head-to-head. They should be ranked higher. It's not that complicated unless you are looking for a reason to be negative about the Steelers.

Even when you look closer, the Steelers have advantages. They have two common opponents so far. The Browns beat the 49ers, but just barely, and after their offense had been hit heavily by injuries. They also got crushed by the Ravens right before Pittsburgh beat Baltimore.
