So the Steelers no longer control their own destiny?

They do if they win out. They do not at 9-7.

If the Titans manage to win the AFC South and the Texans finish 9-7 the Texans are in.

What are the odds the Ravens rest starters if a win keeps the Steelers out of the playoffs?

If the #1 seed is locked up I think they will rest starters, with the type of offense they run I'd be hard pressed to think they will risk Jackson against the Steelers D.

That being said, the Steelers O struggled against the Cards defense which is worse than the Ravens backups.

Once they go up by 30 they will pull the Starters.

It’s their duty to the NFL to knock Steelers out.
    That’s their mentality.

Yea they lose a bunch of tiebreakers to the Titans on strength of victory if they both finish 9-7 depending upon if the Titans beat either the Saints or Texans. If the Steelers win one of the last two and the Titans lose out the Steelers are in, if they win one of the last two and the Titans beat the Saints and lose to the Texans they are still in on conference record. If the Steelers win one game and the Titans lose to the Saints but beat Houston the Titans get in based on strength of victory over the Steelers at 9-7. If both the Steelers and Titans lose out and finish 8-8 Tenn gets in again on strength of victory unless the Colts also finish 8-8 then they would cancel out the Titans based on better division record and then the Steelers would win a tiebreaker over the Colts at 8-8 based on head to head. So there are still plenty of ways to get in still but the Steelers no doubt made things a lot tougher on themselves tonight by not winning this game against the Bills.

    Here is what really sucks.

If the Saints beats the Titans and Houston beats the Bucs in Week 16 that locks up the AFC south for Houston.

Meaning that in Week 17, Houst is the #4 seed win or lose and have no reason to play starters against the Titans.

If the Titans win against the Texans and the Steelers lose against the Ravens in Week 17, the Steelers are out and the Titans are in. This all assumes the Steelers beat the Jets.

Steelers will have Juju against Ravens, so offense should be better.

It won't be celebrated but it has to be acknowledged that a winning record with the QB-RB-WR-TE lineup they have had to use this year is good.

It's still better to get into the playoffs, even if they lose in the first round. They can't get a better draft pick in the first round, so why not get some playoff experience for the young players.

This doesn't make sense because we currently have tiebreaker over them. But if we both finish 1-1, they do. What changed?
