Same thing this week as last. Here is my question and I just don't understand it, that is why do our DBs NEVER and I mean NEVER stick the WR opposite them on the line to knock them off their route and allow the pressure to get to the QB. Last week Pryor made several throws on 3rd and whatever yet our DBs kept playing the cushion they've made so famous. Today, as always no jamming at the line, same soft cushion and WRs open all day! For the love of all things football somebody jam a WR and see what happens. It is as if our DBs are so inept the staff has no faith in even the slightest confidence in doing this. Pats had the ball up by 3 in the 3rd and Gay gets beats by Thompkins for a 17 yd td. Hell, Gay for all purposes should just stand on the goal line and keep the play in front of him since the throw was going to the endzone anyway. Same issue all year! We had pressure on Brady but it only works when you disrupt the routes!

If i'm not mistaken, that's man coverage. We play a lot of zone.

He probably meant Dobson who scored the td against Gay.

We can't tackle. We can't cover. I've always known that Ike really wasn't a very good corner and our pass rush has compensated for his problems. I've known the same thing about Gay. Now it is just being absolutely confirmed. Man we are a really sucky team from tip to tail. Now that we can't rush the passer our whole defensive backfield has been totally exposed. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we didn't win another game this year and every team we play from here on out gameplans exactly like what the Pats did today. Brady and the boys put in the work it takes to be great. We don't. That's the bottom line. They obviously saw the things on film that some of us have been complaining about all year and they exploited it. Our coaches are just too dumb to do that.

Yes Dobson ( was working trying to do 5 things at once) and yes we play zone but that doesn't leave the excuse for no jamming when playing zone as we didn't play zone EVERY pass play. Last week Ike manned up and never touched his man.

I will tell you what's really sad. I'm just a guy that likes to watch football and I know that the soft spot in our zone is the middle of the field. Brady knew it too and killed us all day long. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see us go after a nose tackle in the first round. Well I should rephrase. If our scouts and coaches and gm's weren't completely inept we would take the next Casey Hampton if we get a shot to. We can't stop the run. So then they bring Troy up to try and help. So then the middle of the field is wide open. So then Tomlin goes in to press conferences and says "obviously" about 39 or 40 times and then doesn't do anything to fix it. Tomlin actually got called out on his tough talk last week. They said "you said there were gonna be some changes made to all these people making mistakes so what are you gonna do?" or something like that and Tomlin says "I'm not gonna paint with a broad brush." In other words, "I'm all bark and no bite."

The reason is we can't play man coverage. Our defensive backs would get beat of the line and probably give up a big gain like Taylor and Gay did in the game. It's best that they keep the WR in front of them and hopefully they make the tackle.

We need Ike to start waiving his hand in front of his face. That seemed to work in the past. Maybe change his name from Taylor to "Swaggin" would help and attach a bobble hand to his facemask?
