Homer= being smart enough to realize that we don't own the team and no amount of wanking will make us eligible to hire the next coach, got that fine!

Easy bro. I like talking about it as much as the next guy. I’m just acknowledging the reality.

Funny how when Tomlin does something we have to give him some credit for we do it begrudgingly. Last season the Steelers did not collapse at end of season, we had to win last 3 for Playoffs and we did it. And we sure the hell didn't have a first string NFL QB. I'd say that was the most credit Tomlin got in the last 7-8 years. He should have savored it and retired.

I wonder if players of any sport read fan message boards?? I consider myself thick skinned but I'm a Pro player I'm not reading any social media.

You are right so ignore people you don’t want to hear complain about MT not really sure what’s so difficult about this? Then the rest of you can talk about this high level football X and O s that also will have no bearing on anything because your not the owner :lolol:

Ben seemed satisfied with his lot in life after the SB years. Played in 3 SB's, I got a ton of money so I'll coast a few more seasons and make more money. I still remember his first game in the Playoffs against Pats. He was young and pumped but it's tough for a rookie QB to get to SB.

Ben was a bad ass when he needed to be especially in the early years. He had a ton of raw talent. Reminded me of a golfer, Mark Calcavecchia. He admitted he hated to practice and compared to other Tour Pros he rarely did. He just loved playing. He won 10+ event plus 1 Major.

In his time, Cowher was way underestimated how good he was because he was not winning Super Bowls. He did allot with what he had to work with. I remember even Madden publicly say Cowher would never win a Super Bowl

Cowher was better than Tomlin, but he still could not win a Super Bowl without a franchise QB. When he finally got Ben...BOOM, he got one quick.

Franchise QB`s in their prime years make a head coach look smart. Ben`s elite years died as soon as he switched to quick throwing to extend his career. Ben extending plays sacrificing his body was what made him elite for a time (second tier elite). When he went to quick throws, he was less than elite and our overall success diminished.

Ben did seem to lose his magic, after 2010 or so. his early years, when he was wild, reckless - while it destroyed his body, were the years when his WILL TO WIN did it, much of the time. He of course had a DICK LEBEAU led defense where TOMLIN did not screw it up!

Then.......things seemed to change from 2012 or so, on, for the rest of his career.

    Oh well.

    that was then.

this is NOW and we have a real mess still......

BUT HE LUCKED into Kenny Pickett getting injured - and MASON sparked that team to get into the playoffs.

    THAT WAS NOT TOMLIN

Kenny sucked and Tomlin could not see it.

Kenny was healthy at the end of the season but he didn't get his job back, who made that decision Kenny or Tomlin?

What about the collapse that lead to the season needing to be saved in the first place? The Steelers were 7-4 before dropping 3 games to bad teams. Why should Tomlin get credit for putting out a fire he started? It sure didn't take a genius to see that Mitch Trubisky sucked.

So we are just going to ignore the coaching errors in this game and blame Ben. Sounds about right.
