Alex Highsmith is Steeler Digest Player of the Week

Usually posted after every game but I didn't see it.

Sure got flashbacks of #92 in SB XLIII when #56 was straddling the sideline on that opening Pick 6 (minus the O2 rescue at the end)! Bravo young man!

Two weeks in, two D players. Let us see an O player win this Sunday night!!

It is early, I'm sure at some point Pickett will win it and probably more then once.

 

Highsmith is underrated. Quiet assassin. Good to see him get some accolades.

 

Highsmith rebounded nicely after being a non-factor in week 1.

 

It was probably late because they had trouble picking between Highsmith and Watt

 

Highsmith also named AFC Defensive Player of the Week by the NFL.

 

Congratulations Highsmith on both accounts.

 

We don't win that game without Highsmith. A pick 6 and a forced fumble that resulted in another TD. Of course the Steelers player of the game could have been Deshaun Watson who kept turning the ball over to us.

 

To Highsmith's credit, Trent Williams is a HOF Tackle. That matchup isn't easy for many.. many EDGE Players. That said, Highsmith was the least of my worries in Week 1 much less this past Monday.


For that matter, Alex Highsmith has owned Jedrick Willis since Willis was a Rookie. Reminder that Jedrick was a consensus Top 10 Pick. While he has done good work overall since heading to Cleveland, for whatever reason, Alex simply has his number.


Might have to add Nick Herbig to that list soon.
