Their DBs lack speed, Peterson is old, and Pierre and Wallace are slow .

Pick 17 May address this. Perhaps a luxury afforded by using FA to bolster OL and ILB groups

We will have to see if the interest of Deonte Banks still holds true. I do understand that today at the Owners meeting that Tomlin stated the interest or lack thereof of a player is in no way tied to the team visiting or not. However, given the Steelers Draft History under Tomlin ever since Maurkice Pouncey, I have to believe that this could be somewhat of a smokescreen since all 1st Round Players from 2010 to 2022 have been drafted by the Steelers when the likes of Tomlin, Colbert and the OC, DC, were available. This does not account for positional coaches either.

Wednesday the 30th is Marylands Pro Day after all. We will have to see if the possibilities of Deonte Banks being a Dark horse candidate at pick 17 will ring true. Mind you all that Arkansas, LSU and even Oklahoma State are also on the same day; doubly so in LSUs case as that is a Tomlin Favorite.

Just hope they can really give Kenny P all the help he can get as need to fix that O.L. Or he will have short NFL life.

    ?!

I wouldn't have too much worry about that. Pittsburgh has already identified brand of Football they will be bringing into 2023; Smashmouth Football. Sure, Kenny will have to continue to grow but this new look Offensive Line will be in better standing than before. With any luck though, Broderick Jones Jr falls to Pick 17; something I sadly am losing faith in.

Dude is just too damn good. For that matter, opting for Darnell Wright Jr. at Pick 17 would not be a bad option either. Dawand Jones from Ohio State could also be in the mix though him maintaining his weight will be a factor.

yeah that is only him who thinks that. I think it is pretty obvious we will be going with a CB in the first.

It should be interesting in the upcoming weeks.
I wasn't expecting the Steelers to sign 3 OL. The competition should be great.
I still think they are lining up for an OT at 17 unless a very good CB drops to them.

    Yep.

That said, both Offensive Tackles and Corners are in high demand. At this point, settling for even the likes of Darnell Wright or Deonte Banks wouldn't be nearly as bad as others make them out to be; doubly so in Wright. His lateral explosiveness and lateral agility are severely underrated. Hell, even players like Will Anderson Jr. had a problem with Wright and Will Andersons Overall Explosiveness and Agility are off the charts to begin with.

You know how I feel about Darnell Wright. I would totally be down with seeing him in the B & G.

As would I. However, I am more convinced than ever he will end up going on Opening Night. There is simply too many aspects working in his favor for him not to be considered.

Given how Wright is among the Big Five among Offensive Tackles... after Anton Harrison from the University of Oklahoma... one really is shooting for the proverbial moon. Sure, Rookie Offensive Tackles often do need an adjustment period but I don't believe that Wright is going to be among the ones that have that steep of a difficulty curve.

It seems as if they would have to take Wright at 17, not 32. Maybe he becomes a target if they trade down.

I would see what he looks like in camp. Battling a lower body injury all year definitely slowed him down. If he can play that let’s us slide Wallace into the slot where I think he will flourish.

He sucked before he got injured though, I would rather have them double dip at the CB position in the draft, instead of paying Witherspoon 4 million.

We could use 2 CBs and on average you need to draft 2 just to get lucky on one

We need CB more than we need a guy who would 6th or 7th on the ball catching totem pole

They should draft a slot CB, because Maulet can't cover, and they need to draft an outside CB.

Beyond the third you typically are not going to get a very good CB and I can’t see taking 2 with the first 4 picks

As a TN alum who is a season ticket holder, I can say Wright is the real deal. He was one of the best linemen recruited out of high school before committing and playing for the Vols. Wright overcame the adversity of playing for a horrible coach, Jeremy Pruitt, the worst coach in TN history.

Wright was consistent and a leader in the locker room. While it’s easy for me to wear the orange tinted glasses, I can honestly say that Wright is the real deal as he played well against the best players in the SEC.

Last year they took two receivers within the first four picks, why not take two CBs within the first four picks this year.
