After the success of our rookies this year, does this change our draft strategy?

I think all we NEED is edge rushers. I think after that we just need depth and don't have to reach for players.

    1. OLB (pass rusher)
    2. DE/DT (pass rush specialist)
    3. FS
    4. RB
    5. ILB
    6. WR
    7. OL

I am a LOT less concerned about the Dline than I was at the start of the year. Hargrave can play for sure. Matthews has been "acceptable". Walton I think can continue to develop as can Maxey. I want stout guys who can move to DT when we play our 4/3 package look with 2 OLBs.

To me, Linebacker, both outside and inside need to be added as well as a long term Mitchell replacement.

WR comes down to Bryant. Has he gotten himself right?

RB comes down to Bell mostly. I want a better backup. A young guy who we can count on to dress and stay injury free.

OL comes down to our OT from this past year. If we really like him, I skip drafting OL. Finney is good. Hawkins I think will be good. That gives us 7 OL. Add in some UDFA and we can put a good group together for next year.

Round one is an edge rusher. Dupree has to have an attack partner to resurrect the "Renegade" defenses of old yet again.

I think wr should still be looked at. Even if Bryant comes back strong, I don't think he'll be signed after next year.. And who knows about Coates.

Rogers looks like a nice slot receiver. And Ayers might be a nice 4-6.

Of course olb is a must. I like Soloman Thomas a lot.

I still don't like Ross at CB and Gay is starting to show his age ...Not to mention Mitchell at the Safety spot is getting up there as well...I think we need another CB/S early in the draft ...It also makes sense because the position is pretty deep meaning we can get a better CB late than we normally would..

Then hopefully Sidney Jones or Jabrill Peppers drops. More than likely Jones is the odd man out due to the wealth of EDGE rushing, defensive line, wide receiving, and safety talent this year.... and I have not even gone into inside linebackers or even touched tight ends either.

2017 is loaded top to bottom and has the makings of a special class no question. Only issue is.... can anyone not named Mitch Trubrisky please stand up?

So, his suspension year doesn't count against his contract? Next season will be his fourth in the league.

Correct. He does not get the benefit of an accrued season because of the season-long suspension.

I'd still be looking for Dline early. We are going to have some tough decisions in the near future. If we want to keep both AB and Bell and Tuiit... a player like Tuitt is probably going to have to be sacrificed to free agency.

    Matthews is veteran depth
    LT Walton is young depth
    Maxey is practice squad depth
    McCullers is useless depth

    Hargraves is the real deal
    Heyward is a cornerstone

Front 7 players should all be on the board early.
