I agree with a lot your saying here and believe me I am not or will not take anything away from what our D did in the red zone. Man they showed up when needed and no matter what happened prior to hold the Lions out of the endzone is a pretty impressive deal. However where my opinion changes is if the lions don't think out of the box and kick the FG that most coaches would have done I feel would have changed the rest of the way the game turned out.

Glad we won no matter how good or bad it looked but do like coming here to talk about we I feel we did right or wrong and hearing all the other opinions of other diehard fans as well......win or lose!

It's more than just physical deterioration and simply becoming a "pocket passer". Ben has been a pocket passer since his all-time best statistical season in '14. The coaching staff finally felt Ben was ready to make reads quick enough to be a 3-step drop type of QB (Brady, Manning, etc.) -- make your reads as you're dropping back quickly and get read of the ball on quick, accurate throws. It's something only a handful of experienced QB's have truly mastered -- Brad, Manning, Brees, etc. It allows the quarterback to get guaranteed, smart throws without giving up enough time to allow any pressure to potentially affect his throw or eyeing down his receiver waiting on a route to open up. This makes for an efficient, low-risk offense that also protects the QB as he gets hit less. This method also can extend any QB's longevity in the league by reducing the amount of damage taken.

I think the big thing is those windows are tight for the throws he was making and he was killing it with his arm strength.

When that field gets shortened though. Those windows are not there since you don't have the safety having to cover that much ground and the zones are compacted. I thin a lot of us were in the gameday thread wondering why they didn't just get more depth on their zones as he was carving them up, so they could make plays on those balls. That would have opened up other things and they were willing to let him exploit that with his arm and then shut it down when the field was shortened.

I say they, when I mean Butler. I'm sure the guys on the field don't like getting carved up by Stafford.

Stafford, IMHO, just isn't the guy that can get that done for you absent a stand-out WR like he had with Megatron.
